Kind of funny. We suck, but so does our whole division!

In a way, records don't matter when it comes to the ultimate prize. Just find a way to reach the postseason and then be the hottest team in the league.
And take it one game at a time. Don't take anyone for granted. Focus on the task at hand.
... and any other cliche you can throw in there.

Hey, don't laugh. That's what the Steeelers did last year.
Man, I just can't get used to being this banged up. I don't think I've ever seen it this bad in the history of being a Seahawks fan. I swear I didn't recognize my own team today. I'm just hoping we can stay alive long enough to make a run when Matt and Shaun get back. This season sucks.
It's going to be sad/funny if 7-9 wins the division.

That's what I thought about the Niners last season with all the injuries (I think most in the league). Oh and the year before that was high on the injury list too. It was sort of easier to take, then to be reasonable healthy this year and still getting it handed to us. :thud:

Actually, half of me laughed when I wrote that because the other half believed it to be true.

I'm glad we all agree then.
What sucks more, the season or Derek Smith? Discuss.

not living on the west coast or having sunday ticket, i dont get to see 49er games. therefore i cant comment on derek smith. but so far this season sucks for a lot of teams.

The NFC W is the only division that doesn't have at least one 5-win (or better) team.

Well for starters look at Renz's avatar. The guy whiffing under Edge is the human vacuum himself.

No it explains him sucking. His corrective lense didn't seem to help him out much today.

Look at the picture, watch him play, conclude that he sucks. I defended him in the offseason but I admit I was wrong about him.

1) He doesn't even suck. He is not great at all, but he isn't terrible.
2) All what you do (along with some others) is complain about Derek Smith sucking when there are way worse parts on our defense.

My, how times change. Last year, Derek Smith was the man around here. Funny enough but the same discussion is going on about Lofa Tatupu over on the Seahawks board. He's in a sophmore slump this year.
When we got JP, I didn't expect him to be the ONLY one on the defense playing well. He got his seventh sack of the year (a single season high for him) today that came with a forced fumble that lead to a TD for us. Hey look, I just summed up our entire defensive highlights for the day in one sentence!!
:thud:
There was that one muffed field goal thing.

Times are changing around here. Good to hear about JP and his successes but I caught a little of the SEA-KC game on the radio and heard his name called a few times after Gonzalez burned him.

Yeah but he's supposed to be the top guy on our D and if our top guy is mediocre what does that say about the rest of our guys.

2) All what you do (along with some others) is complain about Derek Smith sucking when there are way worse parts on our defense.I guess we have different definitions of what sucks. Saying he's "not great at all, but he isn't terrible" doesn't really say too much about the guy. The guy gets blocked out of plays and dragged by RB's too frequently to satify me as a starter.

I know they got rid of him because they knew the B-C was taking over and they thought knocking off the top guy would kill us. Taking out Don Vito didn't kill the Corleones!

Yeah, but I'm calling that special teams. The defense doesn't deserve any credit today. Wallace played well enough to win his first NFL start in VERY hostile territory and the defense just layed down. Embarrassing.
Whats up with your guys' defense? It has been sucking this year, and no, you don't have to remind me about ours. LOL

I think he does a good job defending his gap and is decent in coverage. I just think he gets to much crap........IMO there are others much more responsible than him for our crappy defense.

Aside from the big play though, how did JP play today? I didnt watch the game but on the stat tracker, I saw a lot of tackles after 7 yards gains on running plays and not so many at the line.
Besides, you have to be at least somewhat happy to go into KC and be that competitive. I thought with Seneca and Morris in Arrowhead, you guys would have a scoreline like the one we had.

Yeah it does, but look at the AFC East.

Bills- suck big time
Jets-suck a bit
Patriots-pretty good if your into winning championships and all that. jk

Thus far, the NFC W teams are all loosing to the same opponents.
SD beat 49ers and Rams.
KC Beat 49ers and Hawks.
Bears have beat the Cards, Hawks and the 49ers.
The division games are going to be must wins for everyone.

NFC West is like the Pac10 -- all offense and no defense. These may be the worst 4 defenses in the entire NFL right now.

Hey, I'm not gonna talk any crap until we get by them on Monday night first. I'd feel a whoooole lot better if we were going into this game with say... a QB and a RB. Until we get at least Matt or Shaun back, I'm not banking anything.
I think Shaun would be in there if he was trully needed. Where is this game being played?

That would be so insane if we somehow made the playoffs this year because I think 7-9 is the best we can possibly do and that might be enough for the playoffs.
Eric 80
10-31-2006, 11:33 AM
If a 7-9 team wins our division I think we should forfeit our spot and have another wildcard.
GoodfellaDave
10-31-2006, 11:35 AM
7-9 would only get you there if it's enough to win the division. It won't be enough to make it as a wild card.
Yea I see that as our only hope. The team that wins the NFC West will probably have the worst record out of all the playoff teams.
