How many new coaches next season, and who are they?

Well I know Fat Andy will be there along with his bad clock management, sense of urgency and throwing a 40 bomb on third and inches........

I don't get to watch too many Eagles games but whenever I do, I do notice a poor management of the play clock as well. :madgal:

Denny, Parcells, Gibbs?, Shell?, the guy in B-More, I think they all could go. There might be more that I am not thinking of though.

**ahem**cough**clears throat** "I take full responsibility. I need to put the players in a better position to make plays. I need to do a better job getting the players ready to play on gameday. We'll take a look at the film and fix the things that need to be fixed. We'll see how it goes in the next couple days here."

I'm getting tired of hearing the same press conference every week........:nonono:

Best post on the EMB by far this year:

It doesn't matter if any of the fans are on board with Andy Reid as a head coach. Because Jeffery Lurie is on board with Andy Reid and he's the only person whose opinion counts.

And Jeffery Lurie will remain on board with Andy for as long as Andy keeps winning the majority of his regular season games. If the Eagles stay competitive year after year, fans will keep spending money on the team.

The ownership doesn't care if the Eagles win a championship. They're not fans, or even championship-crazy Philadelphians, they're businessmen. They will never ever have the passion for this team that the city has. Frankly, I wouldn't be surprised if there were a study conducted by the teams' accountants to determine the amount of games they need to win each year to maximize fan retention. That's the kind of people we have running the team.

All they care about is consistently putting asses in the seats because that makes them money and ensures future profits. Their business model is winning a majority of their regular season games, and that's what this team is built to do.

This team is not, however, built to win playoff games. It never has been.

Granted, I'm sure they'd like to win a championship, but they won't risk the future financial health of the franchise in order to do it. This is why they're always so far under the salary cap. They'd much rather get our hopes up every year that this will finally be the year they turn the corner because that keeps us spending money.

In the long run, the team is much more profitable if they focus on the long term with a hope that at some point they'll simply luck into a championship due to the law of averages.

So don't worry, I'm sure we'll all have the opportunity to defend Andy Reid after his team implodes in must-win games for a long time to come. ENJOY!

There were so many coaching changes over the last two years, I can't imgine too many teams are going to can a 1st or 2nd year coach.

Green is gone in AZ, Parcells & Gibbs may both retire.
Art Shell should be fired, but I have no idea who would actually take the job.

"I take full responsibility as the head coach. We fought our guts out today, and I think maybe I need to work on some things to put the players in a better position to make plays. I need to do a better job getting the players ready to play on gameday. I can't say anything for sure until I take a look at the film and fix the things that need to be fixed. But our guys played tough, and I'm real proud of them, and that includes Mark, who is just super smart with the ball. We'll see how it goes in the next couple days here."

It doesn't matter if Joe Gibbs is the head coach and seen as infallible yet makes mistakes in gameplanning and personnel decisions. Because Dan Snyder did the impossible and brought back Joe Gibbs, and Joe's the only person whose opinion counts.
And Mark Brunell (the cancer of the team's production) will remain on board with Gibbs for as long as Gibbs keeps his love affair for veteran QB's, no matter how washed up they are. If the Redskins still continue to plummet downwards since the QB can't throw a pass past 5 yards accurately anymore, Gibbs will still keep him in the game since he doesn't trust QB's under the age of 30.
The ownership actually DOES care if the Skins win trophies and are successful, Snyder just isn't sure how to make it happen and always gets crucified no matter if it's Norv Turner messing it up or Gibbs making the errors. He grew up a hardcore Redskins fan, and actually made it his dream to one day be affiliated with the Redskins. He has the passion, he just gets burned for either doing too much or doing too little in terms of progression of the team. Snyder did too much at the end of Turner's time and with Marty around and took well-deserved blame for it, but right about now he needs to wake up from his dream of working with THE Joe Gibbs and step in and declare that we need a General Manager to begin fixing things.
This team is not built to win playoff games. It was, at one point, at least on the defensive side of the ball back in 2004, but free agency ultimately ruined that dream, thanks to guys like Smoot and Pierce choosing to leave for personal reasons and guaranteed starting positions.
Granted, I'm sure Gibbs would like to win a championship. He wouldn't leave NASCAR and his family unless he thought he really could, especially at his age and with his diabetes. He's just too stubborn at this point to accept the need to put in a young QB and stop fighting with the offensive guru he hired in the off season about how to run the offense.
In the long run, the team isn't in awful shape at all- injuries have screwed up a lot of the rhythm and flow of the defense, and Williams needs to get a lot of the guys acclimated together over the offseason for it to start clicking. The offense is pretty young at its core, with a good offensive line for the next 3-4 years still. The only issue remaining that is CLEARLY holding the team back, and it falls on Gibbs, is the QB position, which Saint Joe just refuses to address no matter how obvious it is to anyone in attendance at the games or anyone who watches game film (see: Tony Dungy's comments about Brunell, or the Titans lockerroom thanking Brunell after their victory). If they focus on rebuilding here and there with the young kid taking over at QB finally, and work on adding depth and getting guys healthy in the defense over the off season, the Skins could make some noise once Saunders' real scheme gets rolling next year and especially the year after, but that requires the head coach to finally make a real decision and man up, and Snyder needs to put his foot down to his idol and make some front office changes.
So don't worry, I'm sure we'll all have the opportunity to laugh at the Redskins for the remainder of this season after we win maybe 2-3 more games, especially if Boo-nell is still slowing everyone down and Gibbs continues on like the captain of the Titanic. ENJOY! Edited that for you in the perspective of a Skins fan.

Every fan is tired of their HC's press conferences after a loss. They all have it pre-recorded in their head. With Jim Mora its the ole, "It looked good in practice" routine

I like Parcells interviews. You can tell that they really piss him off.
