Why not petition the 49ers/league to bring back the 49ers 80's uniforms? At least use them like the Chargers use the baby blues!

I never liked the change to the current look! With the old ones, there's just a litlle more pride in playing in the same uniforms that created one of the best era's ever in football!

Maybe we should bring back Walsh for another couple superbowl runs as well. Maybe Y.A. Tittle could be our QB and could throw to T.O.?

Yea we need to go back to those uniforms....look at the jets and the giants they have switched back to their old unis. I would go ape $%^# if the niners would do it

Never should have changed in the first place. It's a NO-BRAINER. Bring 'em back. And for god's sake, change the endzone font back to our traditional one.

First off, horrible examples. The Cowboys unis look terrible.

I think our new Uni's are stylish, as opposed to the old-school outdated uni's from the past. Sure, they are really good looking, but the new ones are pretty sweet as well. I like them both equally, and there is no reason to switch back to a dry-looking gold and red, except to maybe hope that we could be the team we once were by magically switching uniforms.

I don't mind doing what San-Diego is doing, but they have radical differences in their uniforms. Our's are pretty much the same, but with little changes here and there.

Well, if it's about respect, the "new" 49ers haven't come CLOSE to earning the right to wear those uniforms.

this has been discussed everytime the niners put those throwbacks on. (they look great, don't they??). Unfortunately, the unis will probably continued to be used only for special occasions.

I like the current uniforms though. The ones I hate the most were those 94 uniforms and the white pants

Indeed. The old ones and the news ones are both fantastic, but those middle years with the white pants were just horrible.

The 94 uniforms didn't look to bad, its the 96 uniforms that looked terrible (the switch to gold pants was a great idea).

As for the 49ers classic uniform, I prefer the team to continue with what they're doing now. Bring the classic out for a few games.

Smith2Battle, I agree with you about the Jets (love that uniform, their old one was crap on a stick). The Giants I have to disagree. Their uniform is terrible (the helmet is ok). The old one is a lot better.

You don't get it bro. Uniforms are not about fashion, they are about identity. Should we change the American flag to teal and black because those colors happen to be "in" ?

I'm with you. I LOVE THE NINERS' CURRENT UNFORMS! They are a thing of beauty and a joy forever, to use Keats' famous words! They are CLASS!

After every game where we throw the Throwbacks new people come on here trying to petition that we all petition to keep em for good.....give it 3 weeks and people will forget all about em. Just like last year.

You guys are on it! I was saying the same thing yesterday about how champion teams never change wear. We are champions we should look like champions the way everyone remembers us as champions. Also the endzone font is terrible the old style was awsome.

Let's wear them twice a year or so. I like the nostalgia feeling but the old unis are still too plain.

i like more the old one the pants are great and the scarlett is beautiful i hate the new ones,the new ones represent the hard times,please return to the 80s uniform :superman:

I actually started a petition for the same thing last year after we wore them vs. TB. Nothing came of it, but granted i really didn't know what i was doing it was just a little online thing. If someone on here can actually make an effective one, i'm all for it.

I don't forget about them. I am all about the old school red and gold.

Now, I don't get up every day and think, "The 49ers won't change back so my life is doomed to failure," because I'm not that psychotic, but I honestly do think the change should be made and be a permanent one.

"Uniform approach -- The 49ers are 2-0 in their throwback uniforms under Nolan, and the coach said he would like to make the classic scarlet and gold threads permanent.

Nolan cautioned, however, that a uniform change would need league approval, a process that might take more than a year and a half. He also said team owner John York would make the final decision.

"There's been discussions, but it's not going to be in '07, I can assure you of that," Nolan said. "The players like the uniforms a lot, too, and I think that's the key thing. ... I kind of like them, too, and not just because I grew up with them. I kind of like that red. It's just my opinion."
