Cardinals cornerback Antrel Rolle participated in team drills earlier this week, but was walking with a limp and didn't appear past last season's knee problems. Rolle underwent surgery after Week 3 to repair torn meniscus and after missing nine games, he returned for two before eventually succumbing to the swelling and soreness. If the irritation in the knee doesn't improve this week, Rolle told the Arizona Republic that arthroscopic surgery may be the next step.

Our View
Rolle was highly touted when the Cardinals drafted him with the eighth pick in the 2005 draft. While he did manage one pick last season after returning from surgery, he's probably not someone that fantasy owners in IDP leagues want to depend on this coming season.

I wanted us to trade down for this guy rather than go QB, at this point I couldnt have made a worse pick. Guess thats why I dont run the franchise.

You can't predict injuries like that. Besides he could come back great. Nobody on the Falcons thought DeAngelo would nearly break his hip in a preseason game. One year later he's a Pro-Bowler. Even Alex Smith could turn around :)

don't beat yourself up. the injury wasn't something you or anyone could have predicted otherwise no one would have drafted him.

Well, that, and if he was playing for us, he wouldn't have been in the game he got injured in, and may have made the pro bowl.

That's fate I suppose.

Jeez. I sound like Fabie. :rolleyes2:

actually if he was playing for you guys he would have guaranteed to be on IR.
i mean DB, SF, and IR go hand-n-hand the last few years :spy:
But atleast you're guaranteed to start at QB no matter how far down the depth chart you are

its alright, we find people who wouldn't have had the chance with all of our injuries, we never would have really used Moore so thats a plus in spite of our injuries...so not worht it

We should draft this incredibly durable studmuffin #1 overall and take Adrian McPherson in the 4th at QB! He'll throw a ton of TDs his rookie year and Rolle will win rookie of the year! YAY!:rolleyes2:

BTW here's the article referenced by Fanball.com:

Rolle says pain persists in left knee

Kent Somers

May. 2, 2006

Five potential starters didn't participate in the first practice of Cardinals' voluntary workouts Monday, but coach Dennis Green said that was mostly a precaution.

Cornerback Antrel Rolle's left knee, however, is still causing him difficulty. He did some drills on the side Monday, but appeared to be walking with a slight limp at times.

There is some kind of irritation in the knee, Rolle said, and he is going to see whether it improves during the week. He could undergo arthroscopic surgery to discover what's causing the problem.

"It's very minor, though," Rolle said of the problem.

The eighth overall pick in last year's draft, Rolle underwent surgery after Week 3 to repair torn meniscus. He missed nine games, returned for two and was inactive the final two games because of swelling and soreness.

Also working on the side Monday were left guard Reggie Wells (ankle), fullback James Hodgins (knee), center Alex Stepanovich (shoulder) and middle linebacker Gerald Hayes (knee). All are coming off surgeries.

All are expected to be ready for the start of training camp in July.

Nothing to be too concerned about yet.

Hope he is ready by july, but seriously C.R. he was injured week 3 of last season here it is May and he may need surgery again. I do think some concern is there and rightfully so.
He did come back and played in weeks 14 & 15 before the knee started bothering him. The injury is the same one that Boldin had a couple of years ago and he came back fine.

you mean i'll have to watch last years niners team over and over and over again :surrender:

Why are you worried? I don't know how's that different from watching Kyle Boller starting for the ravens in the last three years...

Now, that's painful.:help:

kyle boller has a game where he's thrown 3td passes.
that means kyle boller in one game tripled what Alex did in a season.
still wanna talk?! :boxing: :tease:

Oh yeah, and you still want Steve McNair SO BAD! :whistling:

it's better than getting Dilfer

lol

Oh yeah, diss the guy who commanded your high powered offense to the Super Bowl... how classless. :nonono:

Slight difference: Dilfer is here to mentor. McNair is a quick fix for you, bunch of underachievers. :tease:

5 years ago doesn't mean anything. I wont live in the past like niner fans do...:flex:

Funny how you ignored the second line. :tung:

As of now it would probably be David Macklin and Eric Green.

That scares no one...

Green is a decent #2, though.

Rolle Passes Test

Cardinals cornerback Antrel Rolle returned to full contact action on Monday morning following a lengthy knee rehabilitation process. Rolle made several big plays in practice including an interception in 7 on 7 drills. His hard work with the rehab and his return to the field drew praise from his head coach.

“He is just going to be a terrific player,” Head Coach Dennis Green said. “He made a couple of key plays. He can break on the ball. He is doing well. In June he worked well. He said he had a great July.”

Rolle wants to make up for all of the time that he missed in 2005 and says that hard work is the key to making that happen.

“I missed 11 games last season,” said Rolle. “The way I see it, I have to put in double or triple the work than the other guys. I feel better than last year. We actually tested my knee and it is identical to my other knee so everything is good.”

I was thinking like this watching an interview with braylon edwards last night. I wanted him BAD instead of Alex and thought to myself "Im glad we didnt get him since he tore his ACL." But then I realized chances are if he was playing against a different Cornerback on a different field, running a different play the injury probably wouldnt have happened
