View Full Version : the ravens board continues to annoy

Here's an example of why i don't care for the ravens board.
5 pages of mcnair is coming to baltimore and a kffl imitated story was used as the basis for the thread. No link provided.
So simply going to kffl did a quick search and the first post is easily proved false.

This is why i'm glad this board has the rule of posting a link.
the ravens board always allows reports without links and the only time those threads get closed is when enough people ask for a link, but if enough buy the BS the thread stays open and everyone is deemed gullible.

Ouch, just saw this...

"I'll start with a random player, see if you can tie them to Steve McNair in 6 "degrees". Winner gets to choose the next player. Must be an active NFL starter (No scrubs)."

Tiz, you guys are really down on Boller right? :falldownlaugh:

I agree Tiz adds to the board. It is good to have a little diversity. The same goes for Seachicken (A.K.A. Large Ant)

This is just another reason for you to defect and become a 100% commited Niner fan, instead of 50-50 fan you are now :fishing:

they still have too much competition IMO with PIT, CIN, and the up-and-coming Browns to win the division or make the playoffs. they do have alot of talent but have a closing window to win with an aging team because the offense has never gotten it together.

Aging team? Hardly.

Jamal Lewis: 27 years old.
Mike Anderson (backup): 33 years old, but still effective.
Mark Clayton, second year.
Derrick Mason, 32.
Todd Heap, 26
Terrell Suggs, 24
Adalius Thomas, 29
Peter Boulware, 32
Tommy Polley, 28
Chris McAlister, 29
Ed Reed, 28
Samari Rolle, 30
Ray Lewis, 31

That's a pretty good and young base. Add up the draft class that includes Haloti Ngata and Demetrius Williams.

The only "old" people in the Ravens roster could be the OL, whose average is around 32 years old.

Nearing your thirties doesn't exactly make you old.

your kidding right, in the nfl when a player reaches 28 teams usually look for their successor because they only have a year or 2 left at most at playing at high level usually. plus you see player like Ray Lewis and Ogden that are clearly not their old selves and they used to be the anchor of the offense and defense. also you just can't pay aging players top buck as you rebuild like the Ravens are doing. i know you want to keep your best players to stay competitive but it may be time to rebuild.

Haloti Ngata and Demetrius Williams were some really good pick ups for them. i went to a few duck games and Ngata is a moster, and williams is going to be a nice target for mcnair.

personally i am not impressed with Ngata but could be a steal. i like the WR combinations of Clayton, Demetrius Williams, and Heap over the middle

28? So, nowadays, you start looking to replace your players after only six-seven years of service?

You gotta consider the kind of physical punishment received when playing certain position. Linemen obviously start declining faster, but in Ogden's case, he's still an above-average T who would be able to find a home (and a starting spot) in an important number of teams, should he be released June 1st. But the other guys I mentioned? Peter Boulware is the oldest (32), and at this he's more of a pass rush specialist.

The ravens have some room before starting to worry about the team roster's age. I'd say 3 years at least, when Jamal hits 30, Ray 34, Boulware 35, Polley 31 and Reed 31.
