From Peter King:
I think the best rumor I've got for you this morning, five days before the draft, is that in the very slim chance that Reggie Bush is not picked with either of the first two picks of the draft, the Titans could trade down from three to six with San Francisco, which would move up and pick Bush. I'd say there's a five percent chance of that happening. That would let the Titans move down and take Young or Jay Cutler, both of whom have a good chance to be there at No. 7.

Now, I'm sick of the Bush talk, but that just struck me as a wild.

I can't imagine Nolan would trade much to move up to #3, as no ONE player is worth all of the 1st day picks. Remember the disaster that was the Saints after they traded almost all thier picks for Ricky Williams.

But maybe the Jets trade super cheap just to save the $ a #6 makes over a #3?

I dunno. Even Peter King admits it's only 5% chance.

I'm hopefull we draft V. Davis, a good linebacker, a center, and then spend the rest on assorted defensive players.

Never gonna happen.. Nolan has said that he doesn't plan on moving up in the draft which is the only way we'd get Bush.

I think 5% is a bit high. The chances are more like .1% IMHO.

Haha, yeah, Alex gets caught too quickly.

Bush to SF, i like it, but not as much as Davis to SF.

No more than 1.6 and 1.22. Not the three and four pick, as well. And I think the staff is open to just about any possibility, short of QB. But let's say they could trade up to 1.3 for both the 1.6 the 1.22 and that's it, or maybe even either three or four instead of 1.22. Say Bush goes to Houston. Then Leinart is taken, or Ferguson or Williams. I suspect he might make a deal to get either Williams or Ferguson, if one or both were available at 1.3, and the move up was possible on those terms. At some point, though, the Niners can't perhaps afford to put everything on one player. They have a lot of 'needs'. I doubt what he'd do is draft Young or Leinart in anticipation of trading after the draft. I think after the draft he anticipates that a few experienced and quality players might be cut by other teams, as those teams make way for the new draftees.

In that KNBR interview, Nolan suggested, maybe just for argument's sake, that he might trade down, just a few slots, to get more top picks, and I assume would think that at least Huff would still be available there.

Who knows. You'd hate to imagine so. But there's the possibility that the lower three and four picks could turn out to be starters, and the top picks could . . I won't even say it.

No way that will happen. Even though that would be something to have former teamates together again.

Maybe not, but Reggie Bush/Mike Martz sounds like an interesting combo
