I like the new features!!!
Run to Daylight!
Highlight Stick for the smaller shifty backs!
Hall of fame Superstar.
I remember hating the new passing feature "QB vision," from this year when it first came out... But it just took a while to get used to it. Now I can't imagine playing without it!
These new changes seem more subtle...

Yeah some of the changes I do like, but one of the new things that I don't like is playing as the blocker. I think you would get bored pretty quick with that, but i like hearing about when you create your own guy that you play as your own guy. If you are a WR you can call for the ball.
At first I was thinking that too. Why would anyone want to be a blocker?
But after reading it... it looks like you can choose to control a player such as fullback at the snap... after you make the initial block you can choose to become the ball carrier.
I'm not exactly sure how it's gonna work... But using the analog control, the one that's currently used as the hit stick, you can do different types of blocks...
I can imagine controlling a WR, sending him in motion and doing a crackback block on a DE or OLB.
In this year's version using 2 player mode, I've tried being a FB and leading the RB out on sweeps and dives... it's kinda hard... so if EA's "Run to Daylight" feature works as it's advertised.. it could be tight!
I probably won't like it at first... just like the QB vision this year.. but once I get used to it.. and using it effectively... it could seperate mediocre Madden players from some of the better ones...

Hit me up on Madden for the PS2. My screen name is Boomdizzzle. three "Z"'s. My current record is 365-63.

EA is doing so many things to turn people off. who the heck wants to play with these options, i hope atleast you can turn these dumb idea's off.
~ playing as a blocker......lame
~ Superstar mode where you have no control over the rest of the team or the offseason of a team....lame
~ total control passing.......f'n dumb.
.......no matter how hard EA tries, every gamer wants to control their specific team and every aspect of it. stop limiting the gamers experience. the whole Madden series is really lucky college football games aren't as possible and dont allow player names because the college football games are a far better game overall.
You probably will be able to turn the features off. But I think with the New console games out (Ps3 and Xbox 360) the games are getting so much deeper and the computing power needed to play these games are there to really make this stuff as complex and as interesting as real live NFL games.
I mean blocking for O Line. Now you need to know your blocking techniques and the play being called - just like a real live NFL player. Wow.

As for your last paragraph that's a completely false statement there are alot of people that only play the superstar mode which is now designed to be completely different from the franchise mode where i control just about every aspect of just my individiual player.
All i play now is Superstar mode unless my boys come over for some miller lite and madden. Superstar is just more fun than a regular season if you not going head up with somebody. What ticks me off is despite having better career numbers and never losing to him I still can't get a better contract than peyton manning :falldownlaugh:

LOL.
What i didn't like about superstar mode that i don't know if they addressed was how they do the draft. The 1st round is untouched so you'll never be a 1st rounder even if you import a 4 time heisman trophy winning QB with an all world arm and 99 overall from the NCAA race for the heisman.
The other issue about the draft is that when they draft you it isn't necessarily on team needs. I had a RB that was rated mid 90's imported and miami picked him up in the 2nd round that's after getting Ronnie Brown in the first and having Ricky on the roster.
yeah i hate that as well... you can never be a number one pick or anything like that.. but i think what they are doing is trying to give you a chance on being a random team then being with who you know has the number one pick.
I also dislike how the entire draft is handled and I wish there was a way to change your personality instead of being "disruption" the entire time in the NFL.

thats alot of my complaint that i was talking about above. i want to play superstar mode to control the career of my guy but i would also like total control over the whole team as well. i like that fact that i draft players, sign and release players in the offseason, as well as be the coach during games.
i would like an option in Superstar mode that allowed me to take control of not only my player, but the entire franchise as well.
doesn't that defeat the purpose of superstar mode?
does ray lewis control the whole team and call offensive plays too?

wow who cares? madden is a game not a alternate reality. crying about meaningless features changes nothing, if you dont like madden then your missing out. plain and simple. go play a football sim or something if you dont like new features that are trying to advance gameplay.

on the contrary i think he likes it enough to want certain improvements. There's forums dedicated to the "problems" with madden made by people who have very active online madden leagues.

this Madden better not be like the 360 version that came out. i cant wait for Madden to come out but hope its not a bit of dissapointment like recent years
We can all hope they change their ways but getting sole ownership of the rights to NFL players was about the worst thing that could have happened for the consumer. No competition for EA will make them lackidasical, and will eventually lead to a downturn in innovation (which I've personally think they have released all CRAP since 04). I'm not holding my breath, I sold my EA stock, only begrudgingly buy NCAA when it comes out now, and wait till they start to discount Madden and buy back NCAA before I purchase it. Personally I think EA's service on all games stinks, with XBOX at least. Continual boots from their server or not even being able to connect, all because EA wont let the XBOX crew host. BLAH BLAH BLAh sorry for the rant.

ZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
show proof. Having the rights they added the feature of Superstar mode and this year went into more depth with it.. Far from Lakadazical.
Remember that just because you don't like the features that were added doesn't mean that the company sat on their reputation and did nothing.
So again i ask how have they become lakadazical and how has the innovation stopped when they have in essence made madden two different games within one and on top of that EA sports is releasing NFL Head Coach... Seperate your personal opinions about each feature and answer objectively.
A decrease in competition will always hurt the consumer in the long run with both price and bredth of product (no proof needed its a fact learned in any fresman econ class). And for the recod I'm not talking about features per se, the graphics have been stagnet, the gameplay has as well. Yes they put these nice little features in but in terms of gameplay and look they've done nothing. They have 0 motivation to improve the product because they have the consumer by his balls. You have no other choice, so you pay what they want for the product and they eventually start to rest on their minor accomplishments.

Changes yes, better no. You still have to deal with crap AI, cheese mongers online, graphic errors, the wrong cut scenes missed commentary. I'm not arguing that its not different or even better, but for what they promise year in and out they dont deliver and a HUGE part of that is they have no one nipping at their heals to steal market share. Its much like a coach bringing in a promising young buck to make his "star" work a bit harder.

ok then go play madden 99 will you have more fun than 07?
some dude tried to argue this before, with no competition, EA will start to get lazy. but it makes no sense, if they made crappier games each year no one would buy them...ppl arent robots.

has anyone here offering all of these complaints about lack of innovation ever made their own videogame or been involved in the videogame industry?
EA isnt concerned with making enjoyable games, theyre concerned with making money... thats something that well just have to learn to live with.
people already LOVE madden. there are tournaments, TV shows, athletes and rappers endorse it and EVERY football fan with a video game console has a copy of it. anyone who is going to buy the game is going to buy the game... there arent many "on the fence" gamers when it comes to madden. you either love NFL football and want to play a football video game or you dont.
think about it from their perspective... would they recoup those added funds with higher sales? probably not... so what reason do they have to put MORE money into what amount to cosmetic changes to a successful game?
the answer: there is none. if you REALLY dont like Madden, DONT BUY IT! if not, shut yer trap, sign onto xbox live, and hit me up w/ a challenge: gamertag- HeinousNutsack. BRING IT! :flex: :towel:
honestly :thankyou:
ill hit you up when i get over my nba live binge. then ill bust out the bolts. madden needs throwback jerseys online. they have them for live its pretty sweet.

First, I love madden and have played it for countless years. Last year's version on regular Xbox probably was my favorite of all-time. So then I go and get it for 360, I have read and hope as well that this version was a "dumbed" down version in order to release it in time for the release of 360. By some chance it wasn't and this is the way madden is going, then I will not ever buy a madden game again. Not that you guys really care if I will buy another madden game again, but I had to vent after wasting $60 on it for 360. :madgal:

I play Madden 06 on the 360, and I really hope they fix two things in Madden 07.
1) When you throw the ball just before you get tackled, you fumble!
2) Sometimes when the QB throws the ball... The ball goes backwards! Towards the own endzone! Result: fumble.
This is really frustrating. :madgal:
Another thing is... When you play Madden on the current gen. consoles, and you don't touch the controls after the snap, the CPU will control the QB perfectly. But on the 360, the CPU controls the QB as if it was the first time he'd ever touched a football! He runs around in the pocket... and gets sacked almost everytime! :nonono:

Aaron Brooks helped make madden 06? :tung:
Why? Does he throw the ball backwards?

he's notorious for it.
Hmmm. Guess they should place a WR behind him, instead of a RB. :D

Ok, this is really frustrating about Madden 06 (360)...
You're on defence... Your saftey runs towards the ball carreir... Then, once your saftey is TWO inches away from tackling the ball carrier... HE CHANGES COURSE AND TACKLES THE BLOCKER THAT RAN ALONG WITH THE BALL CARRIER.... AND LETS THE GUY WITH THE BALL GO!!!! :banghead:
Please fix this!!!
