What do u think they should do if DeAngelo Williams slips down to here. Should we take him or stick with Barlow/Gore. If not Williams, do we fill DE with Wimbly or LB with Lawson. How about even taking a WR?

I'd lake Lawson if he were there, over Williams. We need some LB help.

I think we should stick to Gore/Hicks
select the best Linebacker available at #22, that might be the best option. Though i wont be angry if we got Deangelo Williams.. him and VD will upgrade our O enormously.. we could get Demeco Ryans later , Nolan is high on him he coached him in the Senior Bowl.

Thats what I'm talking about....although I'm an Iowa fan and Hodge seemed better than him anyway for the Hawkeyes.

I wouldnt mind Peterson or Lynch next year. I agree, skip RB this year. OLB and DB are much higher of a need this year, especially in the 1st rd.

i just ask todd mchsay from espn chat to see who we should take or what the 49ers will do with pick..and this is what he said
will dallas,tx: who you think 49ers would get with #6 and #22...do you think they will take hawk and cb if hawk fell to them or davis and a lb.??
Todd McShay: (12:10 PM ET ) I think by trading back into the first round (pick No. 22), the 'Niners have given themselves the flexibility to draft TE Vernon Davis at No. 6. Davis is a freakish athlete with 4.38 speed. He should become a terrific weapon over the nmiddle of the field in the passing game, which will help Alex Smith's development.
Todd McShay: (12:11 PM ET ) That means, with the 22nd pick the 49ers will address the defensive side of the ball. It could be any of the top DB's (Hill, Cromartie, Joseph, Whitner, etc.) or it could be NC State DE/OLB Manny Lawson, who is skyrocketting up the draft board and would be a perfect fit as a rush linebacker in the 3-4.

I wouldnt complain. I like this scenario. Davis and any of those guys are good for me, especially Manny

I honestly think it will be a OLB. We picked up a couple of CB's this offseason so I can't see us taking another in the first round.
I agree, but I really do like Cromartie and Whitner. Lawson, Wimbley (both unlikely) or Greenway or Carpenter would make me very happy.

i think we should get lb with our second pick
if vd is gone either hawk is there if not then take huff..
huff..thats starter fs
then a lb next
de or lb again
then ..i think we should shore up defense this year..nad then offense next year...since we have a little offense this year...

While I think we should use #22 on an OLB, if the good ones are gone by 22....I really would like Donte Whitner....he is an execeptional saefty and I think he could be a better pro than Huff.

BOLD statement, but I agree. I am a big fan of Whitner. He is a ton of upside. Good pass defender and good in the box. Fast and strong.

I don't think so. Huff has great cover skills and hits hard. He always loves try to be the best. He trains exceptional hard. He skip the trip to meet with the president to start training for the draft.
I agree and by know means am I assuring Whitner will be better, but he has all the physical tools Huff does and has been just as impressive in college. I think they are both great prospects and either one could turn out to be the better pro.
I personally feel Whitner will be a great pro.

I would love
- AJ Hawk at #6
-D Williams at #22
take the pressure off Alex
with a future leader on defense and a running game for years to come.

I agree. If VD is gone by 8 we trade down a little maybe pick up a 4th rounder and pick Huff.

I would love to have VD and DeAngelo on our offensive side of the ball.
That would be an superb offense! With a great o-line (acquisition of L. Allen and a healthy J. Jennings and hopefully J. Newberry)!
Sounds terrific!!!
