H-back
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
An H-Back is an offensive position in American football that is a hybrid between a fullback and a tight end. One team that prominently utilizes the H-back position is the Washington Redskins under head coach Joe Gibbs, who is one of the first coaches to use the positions. Gibbs is credited for revolutionizing the postion.

Strengths:

Possesses excellent size. Plays with great toughness, fights for the ball while it's in the air and isn't afraid to go over the middle. Doesn't get pushed around much and can get a clean release working against press coverage. Runs with excellent power, shows adequate vision with ball in hands and can be productive after the catch as well as running reverses. Plays with a mean steak, has good upper body strength and can be an effective blocker. Can return punts and has the potential to develop into a quality special teams' player.

Overall:

Walker committed to UTEP in high school but he attended Mt. San Antonio College in California for two years instead and he transferred to Central Missouri State in 2004. He started 11 games in 2004 catching 48 passes for a total of 623 yards and four touchdowns. Walker also returned 18 kickoffs for a total of 530 yards and two touchdowns and carried the ball 21 times for a total of 183 yards and two touchdowns that year. For his efforts, he was named All-MIAA as both a receiver and a kickoff return-man. As a senior in 2005, Walker finished with 724 yards and six touchdowns on 65 receptions.

MAIOCCO:

I think you’ll see a power-running game that will try to take the pressure off Smith. I think you’ll see the team use a lot of play-action to get the ball into the hands of Vernon Davis down the seam. Also, I think there’s a real chance that rookie Delanie Walker figures into the offense as the so-called “F back,” (or H back) which is a fullback-tight end-wideout position. If Walker can get his hands on the ball and turn upfield, he could be a real factor in this offense.

So he's "D-Love," huh? He's listed as WR, 6' 1" 241lbs. We'll soon see how he pans out.

LOL. I thought this thread was started by you when I first saw "D-Love" in the title of the thread. Anyway, he looks good but at 241 pounds, he might need to put on some weight if he wants to play FB.

This is the guy that I'm most excited about of the second day draft picks. 6'1 241 and runs a 4.5 he could be very dangerous. A pass catching back can be a young qb's best friend! Chris Cooley watch out!
