The Titans are up on the Jags right now.
For once, it's not Vince Young making amazing plays, but the Titans defense, which has run two INTs back for TDs, and a fumble returned for a TD.
If the hold on and win, they will be 7-7 and one game out of a wild card spot.
Amazing for a team that most people (including me) predicted would be terrible this year, and amazing that some in the media speculated that Fisher might be fired before seasons end.

Bad play calling at the end of the drive probably sealed the deal for the Titans.

The funny thing is, in terms of yards, the Jags are dominating the Titans, but in terms of points, its quite the opposite.

The Jags are going to catch all sorts of hell this week if they don't get it together.

Certainly is amazing in every aspect. Jamie Dukes said that Tenn would win the game. It would be absolutely astonishing if they make the playoffs being that they spotted the rest of the AFC several games to put the final nail in Kerry Collins career.
I had forgottten about the Kerry Collins fiasco. Wow, that was a BAD idea.

Wow,
Jags: 396 total yards Titans: 98
Jags: 23 1st downs Titans: 5
But Titans win because of 3 Garrard INTs.

The announcer for this gane was so dumb. The last drive the Jaguars had teh ball, teh annoncer says " Jaguars ball. The Titans havent been able to stop them all day?" What??
Garrard threw 3 picks (2 at the time the announcer made the comment). The Titans D had 3 TDs.. (2 picks one fumble.), had 5 sacks, and gave up 17 points. How is that not stopping them all day?

Look at the yardage, the Titans couldn't stop the Jags from marching down the field all day long.
But just because they could move the ball doesn't mean they could score!

Hmm i though preventing them from scoring a TD would count as a "stop" but please enlighten me on the meaning of "stop"

I honestly thought that TEN would be more competative this year than people thought. The only other person on here I remember saying the same was blackmonk.
Fisher is a hell of a coach, and VY has willed the team to win this year. Today was the defense's turn to step up. They'll be fierce on '07.

They have 11 draft picks and will be $41 million UNDER The cap next season.
Sounds good, doesn't it?

wow, they are doin great, i watched the game. young needs to learn though, i know it wasnt costly in the end but with a minute left he threw the ball away and stopped the clock, instead of taking the sack and keeping the clock moving

That was not smart. He still has a long way to go. Even in his wins he is not playing a great 4 quarters, just a great 4th quarter.
Still lots of room for improvement there.

Young actually did not have a good game yesterday at all.
The Titans defense won that game for them.
It's nut amazing though, Young has been the winning facotr for them, and this week, when he's ineffective, the defense still gets them the win anyway.
If they make it to the playoffs, I wouldn't pick them as a 1 and out team.

That's why they gotta come up with some kinda formula for the NFL's #1 defense, other than just Total Yards Allowed per game. They gotta factor in turnovers and Red Zone scoring percentage, along with how many 3-and-outs they force.
