"It's been a rough year for the Cardinals' new stadium. The grass won't grow. And the retractable roof has been benched. It seems when the field-in-a-tray comes rolling into an air-conditioned stadium for two days in September and October, the grass begins to think it is winter when it is not. And then it goes to sleep or something."

That's from a column by Dan Bickley. It's only one person's opinion.
They still have some kinks to work out, but on its worst day the new stadium is light years better than the hell-hole that is Sun Devil Stadium.

Sure - I was just making a joke. Given SF's stadium situation, I'm not really in a position to throw stones.

For a minute I thought you were going to say “the hell hole called that they call Candlestick Park” You wouldn’t have been wrong if you did though.
One question though, why did they put the retractable roof anyway? Too hot outside? Just think its odd that Arizona has a retractable roof but Seattle, which could’ve benefitted from one on Thursday, doesn’t.

theyll switch to field turf soon
its the best surface, i think all NFL teams will move to it within 5 years.
I don't think so. To many people like the mud and the sludge of a grass field when playing in weather.

If you've ever been to the Phoenix/Tempe area in September, you wouldn't question the roof.
