Does anyone know when training camp starts? For the past three years I have been trying to sign up for the free training camp tickets for the weekend but everytime I log on, they are sold out.

Correction, July 27.

From Nolan's camp summary:

RE: When does training camp open?

“July 27, Thursday evening they report, we’ll be on the field the 28th, for two practices and the 29th for two practices, which is a Friday, Saturday. They’re off Sunday and we’ll start again Monday.”

Last year members on here did a good job of sharing their tickets for training camp, so don't despair if they are sold out. Also, after the original sellout they often added more tickets.

Yep. I'll be there everyday if I can be. Training camp is fun. But for me, it's the best indication of how our team will play out going into the season.

I was at a couple of those days, last year, both beautiful, sunny days. I guess particularly being right across the way from Great America, it was sort of presented as a carnival, with the inflatable ball toss, and the bigger costumed mascot (who I prefer to the smaller one, now), stuff to drink, hot dogs? (I forget), and of course, the five trophies, before which everyone wanted to kneel, under the watchful eye of someone standing in the shade. That's where I shot the photo for the banner of the five Superbowl trophies, below. And of course, there were the cheerleaders, although only a few at one time were there, signing autographs. Now, all they need is a bar-b-que, or some slowww roasted lamb (our home opener, I believe)? Maybe just on certain days.

I hope to make it back, this year. I thought it was memorable, last year, again with beautiful weather. And even for the season they'd had, and would have, people had great expectations in those sunny days. And those bleachers along the side, when they came out for the practice, were filled both days that I was there. I have great expectations of this 2006 team, to be blunt. We'll see.

I agree with that. I still remember the 2 years they practiced at Kesar. Those were some of the worst practices and scrimmages I've ever seen and I've been watching the team since their last days in Rocklin, and after they moved to Stockton. You could feel the intensity last year, and the players looked like they were more focused instead of going half assed. I'm sure it will get even better this year.

Not soon enough!!!! I know I'm already chomping at the bit!. Two more months before we get to see our favorite team on a field! I'll be sure to go at least once. If not more!

Hey, Im an out-of-towner, lifetime niners fan, new to the forum. Is there any other way to see the niners on the field before training camp, like Mini-camps or something, or are those even open to the public? I'm going to be in the bay area next weekend is the reason why I ask. Just wanted to know if anyone had some info. on that.

Mini camps aren't open to the pubic. The only way you can see them on the practice field is if you go on the bridge on TASMAN DRIVE with some binoculars. For me, I usually drive and then stop right on the bridge and look at the Niners until I hear a honk, then I floor it! But if I were you, I'd park somewhere on CENTENNIAL DRIVE and then take a short walk to the bridge. If you don't want anyone laughing at you cause you may look like a peeping tom I'd just park in the little soccer park parking lot. Usually no one's really there unless there's a game and you can peep right through the fence that borders headquarters. I got hurt a few times cause you may have to step on some bushes and get bit by a couple animals but 'hey! front row seats to seeing the 49ers!' Just do what feels more comfortable to you. If you wanna be safe just come here for training camp in late July.

This defines a hardcore faithful fan on a stick. You go man.:boxing:

Does anyone remember when tickets were available for online reserve last year? I went last summer to the TC session featuring the scrimmage and it was a blast. I hope the organization decides to hold public TCs again this summer.

Does anyone know if camp is open to the public this year? The last time I went to camp was when it was in Stockton, out of the TC loop a bit. If it is open what are the dates when it opens for Vets as well as rookies, and where is it?

How do you obtain tickets???IM used to the days it was in Rocklin and Stockton, prior to Stockton it almost moved to my area Reno NV, but the casinos and nightlife put a bust on that.

My wife an I went last year, and it was a great experiance. We both had alot of fun and I look forward to attending one again this year.
I would love to know when they're available. I'll keep checking back.

P.S. I was on the board all last season, when it was redone my account was deleted......so I'm no rookie. Thanks.

It's just a little bit different this year.

I think you'll have to buy a San Jose Mercury News paper on Wednesday, July 5 and follow the codes from there.

Great looking out, reputation coming up sir.

There are going to be 10 training camp practices open to the public, with July 28 being the first. The other dates will be announced shortly. First they offer the etickets to the season ticket holders via email. Then I believe that they will have an offer of the tickets to message board members, then the general public. They are working on thst part of it right now. Each ticket got 4 folks in last year. There are going to be some new promotions too so stay tuned!

Having gone last year, I'll tell you this much. It is one of the best ways to meet players and see them in action without the cost nor the distraction of an actual game.

Get there any way you can, but get there!

The only way to get these exclusive tickets is through the San Jose Mercury News. Purchase the Mercury News on Wednesday, July 5 and look for the special “Training Camp Code” and instructions. Follow the instructions and go to 49ers.com to print your free tickets. One printed ticket admits up to four people.

hey sorry this probably sounds like a dumb question.... but i live in melbourne florida, and im traveling out to san francisco this year to hopefully watch their training camp... do you know how i would go about getting a Mercury News paper or a code from here in melbourne??

Yep... I got to shake Thomas hand before he passes, so I will always go to these events now.

My neighbor who is a Raiders fan is mad. So far we've had family day, and now this... York is become a great owner. Once we win that super bowl and get the new stadium the non-believers will shut up! :towel:

I read here that someone stated that the 49ers were SOLD OUT of tickets for opening TC day, Friday, July 28th. I'm sure glad that I got mine around noon today. Each ticket will admit 4 people to TC on that day.

I recommend that you sign up for the EBLITZ newsletter so you can get in on all the news, including the TC sessions.

Sadie and Fred, if you don't get a ticket for opening day, PM me right away, but I know you are STH's, so you probably already got one.

For all newcomers, go to 49ers.com home page and at the bottom, select the EBLITZ section the MIDDLE WINDOW (BY's face). Subscribe to eblitz and you will be notified by the 49ers about Training Camp.

The 28th is the first date of TC practice; the other dates are not yet publicized. Most are 4 pm practices. The 28th is FILLED TO CAPACITY. Other dates have not been opened up yet, but they will be soon (after season ticket holders are notified, I believe).

Watch for information on the front page of 49ers.com., but if you sign up for EBLITZ, you will be notified by the 49ers Public Relations (by email). Just follow up on the instructions right away. Subscribing is FREE.

Niner Mom :flex: :go:

Khanusma, were you able to get a ticket--or be invited to tag along with someone else? Let me know.
