Use the Trades Thread to post your Trade Blocks, Completed Trades, and other trade related stuff. Remember, when making a trade involving a draft pick, you must include the round number and pick number (ie: JAX trades Rd3 Pk15 (79 overall) to CLE for Rd4 Pk4 (100 overall) + "Player's Name"...or something to that degree), make sure we know what pick(s) are being traded.

I advise you make your trade discussions via PM...:secret:

Please hold off on making any trades until the game has begun (Monday 1/22 @ 12pm PST).

When presented with a trade offer, make sure to get confirmation before announcing it. ie. don't just post a trade happening when all you have is a proposal, as most owners will have several proposals floating around, and will take the best offer. Make sure you and the other owner know the trade is going to be announced before posting it.

overly harsh perhaps, but in general I agree.

STL doesn't have much need at QB, and needs DT's way more than DE's in my view. And ATL is trading the wrong QB away, and I'm still puzzled why he wants to be rid of Kerney. The only part that makes sense is ATL wanting Holt and a pick.

TRADE ANNOUNCEMENT

The Kansas City Chiefs have traded Ty Law, along with their 5th (151) and 7th (213) round picks to the Houston Texans for Andre Johnson.

Now thats what they call highway robbery.

Wait if there is a discrepancy in the trade (holt) how can the trade have gone through? There is no way the Falcon owner is going to accept Curtis or Bruce when he thought he was getting Holt.

May I suggest for future trades that one party announces the trades and the other posts an "I endorse this product and/or service" type message to verify the trade?

Also, can we get confirmation from Atlanta that the trade is cool (and whether he got Bruce or Curtis). We should probably have this settled before Shaub or Bulger gets moved and this becomes a real mess.

I included more than just Moss in the deal too.majesstik1, could you please explain the grading process. How do we know how much we've improved our roster? Is it based on statistics? Or is it the 'ooh, aah' factor? Do we have to trade/draft to make our rosters better? For instance, San Diego has a pretty good roster already. They may add one player, and become an absolute Powerhouse.

It would help to know what the goal is, so I can draft and trade accordingly. To me, the biggest impact is how much we improve our line-play. All the skill players in the world don't matter without good line-play (case in point - Arizona). But if we're going by statistics and such, I'll trade away all my linemen for scrubs, and load up on wide-receivers and such.

Case in point; BladeX traded a 2nd and a 4th rounder for Marques Colston. I thought that was a bad trade because Colston was a 7th round rookie in a pass-happy offense, who has only one year of production (albeit, good production). Trading high draft picks is usually reserved for veterans who have proven themselves consistently in the NFL, yet you seem to think it was a good trade. If that's the kind of stuff we'll be graded on, I'll start targeting guys like Mark Anderson, etc.

Sorry, just looking for clarification.

well they grade off improvement which is why teams such as SD can basically never win this game because they are already good all around. we dont grade on the best overall team, rather we grade on the most improved team.

~ and for the record, a players character definitely comes into consideration for me.So, if I trade, say, Roy Williams for Terrell Owens, I'll get a lot of points for that?

Here's another example. I've traded Cory Redding for Tony Pashos, which helped shore up my offensive line. Then I replaced Redding with Tommy Kelly (more tackles, less sacks), which should give me one of the better DT rotations in the league (Kelly, Rogers, Cody, and Bell). I also drafted Joe Thomas. So basically, I upgraded Detroit's two biggest problem areas last season, without signing a single flashy player. Is that good or bad?

Sorry again, I just want to make sure I'm playing the game right.

Its pretty much just going to be everyone's opinion.

But are you really worrying that much about winning the game? I'm just trying to represent my teams the best I can and I don't really care if that gets me a "most improved" nod. I mean, if all you care about is noticeable impact then day 2 picks would be nigh-untradeable because many won't know/think much of most of the prospects taken. Besides, how does one differentiate between necessary improvement for the future and immediate competitiveness? I mean, Brady Quinn does ****-all for Cleveland in the short term.

If you think Colston was a bad deal, my guess is you won't vote for SF. If Majesstic thinks its amazing, he might vote for SF.

Its based on overall improvement. SD has a ton of talent but if they add one player, theyre not very improved.

All you should be looking to do is improve your holes and try to keep as much talent as possible. Its just like improving a bad FF team.

No but if I gave you Adam Snyder who is solid albeit not spectacular you might be in better shape than you are now.

And Kwame is a ways off from being considering for the franchise tag.
