While I dont agree with his rankings i think some of his commentary is spot on (especially the Bush and Maroney ones). Gore getting some decent press as well!
Frank Gore – A platoon could be the early scenario in the San Francisco backfield, but the money is being laid on Gore being able to win the lion's share of playing time. Gore averaged an excellent 4.8 yards per carry as a rookie and closed strongly the final three weeks as his role increased because of Kevan Barlow's knee problems. Gore had offseason shoulder surgery, but Barlow also went under the knife, so ultimately health is likely to play as big a role in this battle as anything.

Gore is our best pure RB but Barlow comes on the field in passing situations because he is a real good pass protector and appears Nolan really likes what he brings. one RB i am very eager to see is Robinson, all off-season we hear how poerful he is and how strong his lower body is.
I was confused when they picked him assuming it was for WR but he does seem to be making some noise and Lawsons comments on him were excellent so there may be something to it.

Thanks for the article Ace!
I'd have the rankings a little different too, but I'd pretty much agree with the tiers.

I was trippin too. I couldn't understand it. I felt a little better when I heard he was going to be a RB, he looks to be a good pick up. I'm hoping that dude blows up.
I really like Gore, I hope he becomes our unquestioned starter. But those knees and shoulders kinda make me nervous... I hope he can hold up for a whole season. But it's a lot to ask of any back to carry the full load and remain healthy all season long. So insurance is nice.
I think Barlow will show more passion, something he lacked last year. Last year, he would try and make things happen like he was some kind of a scat back, instead of just hittin the hole hard and fast and picking up yards. Barlow is not a burner, if anything he is more of a power back. He needs to learn to plow through instead of trying to juke fools, ya know!
In all likely hood, it looks like Robinson may not be used as much if Barlow and Gore stay healthy. But should one of them go down, I really hope to see Robinson light it up.
