I thought I read that we had scheduled visits for several of the top ten draft picks for last week and this week, but I haven't seen or read any results. Anyone have a run down ?

I don't want us to take Jimmy Williams because I think he doesn't have the right attitude

I saw a game where Jimmy Williams got thrown out and plus he doesn't have a great work ethic. That is what I meant that he doesn't have the right attitude.

Yeah I think I read something like that somewhere to and something about him not being a Nolan guy.

You should have seen the other games when he was jumping 44 inches in the air snatching picks. Williams would be a great addition to our team, especially since talent wise, he's a top 10 pick. Remember, many mocks had US taking Williams at the #6 spot before he got tossed from that game.

From what I've read, Williams has "character issued" himself off of quite a few draft boards. I hope the 49ers pass him by.

I don't think he drops completely out of the first round. I think the Dolphins take him because Nick Saben has a knack of getting something out of character issue guys and they need a CB.

Everyone needs CB's, but this guy is another talented player that needs motivation.

Sadly his attitude is more of a me player and not a team player. Pass!:Guitar:

Ha, Vernon Davis from Virginia Tech.

I wonder why we didnt meet with Manny Lawson, looks like we hate him, so sad.

First of all, the list is not the be all and end all list of players in whom the Niners may have some interest. Secondly, the Niners did not need to bring in any of the guys that the Niner coaches coached in the Senior Bowl, or met with from the North team in the Senior Bowl. That would include Lawson and a slew of other players. Niner coaches also met with players at the Combine, Niner coaches and scouts met with other players at other all star games and Pro Days, workouts etc.

Does anyone remember how many of the Niner picks from last year visited first? I don't remember!

So don't despair if your fave is not on that list!

Thanks Sadie! The only player that hasn't seemed to draw any interest from SF is Bobby Carpenter. He wasn't at any Bowl games because of his injury, and he obviously didn't work out at the Combine. Did we interview him at the Combine? Seems like we'd invite him to Santa Clara if we were interested in him.

Seriously if Jimmy Williams falls to #22 we should take him, some people had us taking him at the #7 pick .............. if he falls to 22 i dont see how you can pass him up.

He could be a playmaker in our secondary like we don't have. And if Nolan gets to draft the player or picks up the guy from FA then Nolan and the player have come to an understanding about how things get done.

Um, yeh, that is what I said in my post. Nolan does NOT need to brimg in to 4949 Centennial Blvd. any of the players from the Senior Bowl, including Lawson and many others.
Do not be surprised to see several guys from that game on the Niner draft board. Like Roman Harper for example!

Mancans, I did read that the Niners were checking out very carefully with Ohio State folks Hawk, Carpenter and Kudla. I am sure they checked out Carpenter's ankle.
