Here is some news from the Senior bowl concerning Patrick Willis printed in the Huntsville Times.

In an informal survey of several NFL coaches and scouts, the general consensus is that Willis, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound linebacker from the University of Mississippi, may be the best player on either team at the annual Senior Bowl, the premier postseason college all-star football game.

"This guy has it all,'' said one NFL scout who did not wish to be identified. "He's a monster on the field and a high-quality guy off the field. He has it all.''

Of all the 24 Southeastern Conference players on the South roster for Saturday's annual Senior Bowl, Willis is considered the top of the line.

"Ever since I've been in college,'' Willis said, "my objective has been to prove not only to people who knew me, but to those who thought coming out of a 1A high school that I wouldn't amount to much, that I'm the best linebacker there is. I'm still trying to prove it.''

Although middle linebackers are not usually among the first 15 picks in most NFL drafts, many believe this year's draft - scheduled for late April - will be an exception. It's hard to imagine 15 other players will be chosen before Willis, a first-team All-America and the runaway choice for SEC defensive player of the year in 2006.
