View Full Version : NFL Mock Draft
I'd kill to read a Jose Cortez scouting report written by him... "Strong-legged kicker with international roots, is not afraid of mammoth guys (see Larry Allen), has a lot of experience, blah blah blah... "
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kq0YcMrVVh4&search=Jose%20Cortez
The way the helmet jumps off Cortez's head just to land again on the same spot is SO cartoonish... :falldownlaugh:

actually i was watching the Yankees route the BoSux. http://boards.buffalobills.com/forums/style_emoticons/default/yankees.gif
But in case your wondering how it's done, this pick is a no-brainer and Knobs finishes up his dominant LB corp adding heart, instincts, and a flat-out tackling machine....

Ace, in an attempt to STEAL the last great lineman (when healthy) would like to announce a position change. Le Charles Bentley will switch back to his first position in the NFL (LG) in order to accomidate C Jeremy Newberry to what will be the greatest power run game in ages.

IMO he's still a top 3 LG and considering who i had to choose from at that position Newbs addition with the change makes the unit far better than anyone I could have picked up I think. Obviously the grades will determine if it was a wise move, but if anything it took Newbs of the board for those who still need a center, much like you with M Smith.

knobs27
06-05-2006, 11:33 PM
Hey Knobs, all due respect but "Shut up". We've cut down from six hours to guys taking 15 to 20 minutes to really think about their picks. Nobody needs you telling everybody when they need to pick by. Everybody has six hours yet everyone is being courteous enough to try to move it along. If you need to go to bed then do so. But quit trying to dictate everyone's pace. It's annoying.
ok well everyone also says lets stay on and we can get a certain amount of picks in a row yet everyone takes so long to make a pick that they should have ready already, just so they can find a pretty picture of that player. now your eyes are heavy, make the pick and lets move on here. i'm just trying to keep it moving, you also tend to forget its 2am where i live and i am doing my best to keep it moving for everyone else as well, even compromising my sleep time.

Knobs, it's real simple. People have their alotted time. Most of us wanted to cut the time down but you didn't want to because you had school. You can't have it both ways. People want to play the game their own way and at their own speed. If we can all wait an extra 3 hours for you to do whatever it is you need to, you can wait another 5 minutes for someone to pick a pretty picture. In short, quit whining.
me whining, you won't let something drop that occured weeks ago. sorry i proved you wrong and we agreed to not have a sleep window yet you didn't know it and are still bitter. and as i covered this before like 5 times because you get too dense to comprehend, the whole school issue was before i realized how long this game could take with 12 hours in between picks. i am perfectly fine with the no window we have now but when we have people available to make 7 picks in a row we should probably make the picks quicker instead of finding cute pictues of that player. now i am trying to move this game around. you have a luxery that i don't have, you can come online during work so you don't care if we select any other hours. i appologize that i can't go online during work or school but i also do my best to keep this going whether it is having someone select for me, compromising sleep hours when its 2am now, and i even voluntarily skipped myself to keep the game moving when i had hours to make my pick left because i didn't have time. not sure why you make an issue of this every couple days, but lets move on.

I'll just let you act like a whiny d!ck and not retort. But the point still stands. Shut up and give people their 6 hours... or 3 hours... or whatever. If they've got the time alotted, then they have it alotted. Whether or not it's convenient for you is irrelevant. Have a nice night.

not overly fond of your WR's roles in the running game tho...
They'll be busy keeping the guys in the secondary honest. There will be no stacking the box with those guys out there. And, Smith, despite his stature, is a pretty decent blocker...as well as TonGon. Besides, they were already on the roster when I took this team over, I'm doing the best I can with what's available at this point. My picks started with Simmons.

06-06-2006, 04:53 PM
i agree on smith, and for the most part i guess you're right about keeping the secondary honest. As for Holt we'll actually find out this season if he actually can run block but on the surface i'd hope the weaker run supporting CB is on torry holt.
Yeah, I'll work on packages/formations/motions to get the favorable blocking match-up for Holt.

"Wide right! He hooked it! And with that the Steelers hold onto their lead!!!"
ya so be it, he is still the most accurate kicker in nfl history so he has been clutch. its easy to pick apart just about any kicker in the nfl, and Vanderjagt's accomplishments shouldn't be summed up by 1 miss. not to mention, if Harper stays to the sideline this isn't an issue because he runs by Ben and into the endzone. :fishing:

No, I actually thought it was hilarious listening to Giants fans for the next six months saying "We really won that game, it's just that Feely didn't do his job."
Always cracks me up when people act like the kicker is not part of their team. They act like it was Jose Cortez that ran out there in his Cowboys uniform and blew all those kicks.
it was hilarious. i remember watching that game at a local bar and a few of those misses looked good at first going down the middle until i saw they were 10 yards short. i really thought he was injured, wow that was terrible.
that was hilarious to watch. didnt the hawks kicker miss one too? i dont remember

I almost took him instead of Lee Evans and I would have if age wasn't a factor.

exactly, but as a slot receiver Joey fits in perfectly. he is still a burner and hasn't lost a step yet. i am extremely happy to have him as a 3rd WR.

What is this age you speak of? Does it adversely effect a players abilities? I'm very curious about this...

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v319/BBlades89/Marcus%20Tubbs/TubbsWAS1.jpg
weird how good and effective he was. he was the best DT at times and changed the complection of the Hawks defense yet i think he came off the bench. coming off the bench or not he played as much as any DT on the team and Large Ant got one heck of a DT.

Lawyer Milloy, SS, Atlanta Falcons
Also, Fez announces that, since Milloy can't feed his family off of Superbowl Rings, the team will buy Walmart's warehouse so his newly acquired SS can freely go over there anytime he wants to and provide his family with a variety of healthy food. Of course, that's better than getting paid 6 million over 3 years. :tung:

Excellent value (understatement of the year). But sadly, we're not grading on value, just overall team... and yours sucks. :tung:
Best OL in the game. Best QB. A rising star at RB. A deadly two-TE set in Witten and Watson (who is actually stronger than Vernon Davis and just a tad slower). A burner as my #1 WR, and a YAC threat as my #2, both willing blockers downfield.
A defense with three, maybe four good rusher in Taylor, Ellis, Washington and Bunkley. Premier run stopper in Wilfork. A young tandem of CBs, but great experience at safeties.
Yeah, it sucks.

IMO you get screwed because we aren't letting return men also be starters. the reason i say this is because McGee is probably the best kick returner in football and is also a better CB than Newman.
EDIT: BTW, who do you think the best o-lineman in the game is?

The best olineman is of course Walter Jones, but overall I got the best front five. :whistling:
Let's see... Levi Jones has shut doubters up with his mobility and is poised to become one of the best LTs in the next generation (Jones, Pace and Ogden still rule, but they're aging). Alan Faneca, best LG in the league... I don't care if you're Steve Hutchinson :whistling: Olin Kreutz is one of the best C in the league and is in his prime. Guys like Bentley got too much attention because they were FA recently (no offense, he's good, though). Will Shields: 35 years old, but still one of the best RGs in the league. I get mainly AFC games down here, and got to watch the Chiefs a couple of times. Shields is still dominant. And Jon Jansen was a stud since his rookie season and save for 2004 (ACL injury) he hasn't missed a game. Protected Brunell's blind side last season.

not to be the jerk but its not really other people's faults if you made the wrong pick. the picks you made effected all of our drafts. we all have picks that we wish would have changed as people took our players or we realize we should have drafted someone else. every team could have the same complaints and want to change certain players. i dunno, seems kinda weird to add/drop players after you just selected those players.

I'm on record as saying I wouldn't be offended either way by this. I'd even say we could have a "supplemental round" after we're done where anyone could do what Jerm is proposing. Doesn't bother me either way. I just don't think we need to get too anal about this thing. After all, it's just a game that's meant to keep us all from getting bored to tears over the offseason. Some people need to remember that.
In short, "Whatever."

With the last and BEST pick I've made Ace selects his QB...............
Drew Brees.
Talk about value:nana:

Hah yeah I was debating about whether to take Brees or Roethlisberger WAY early on.
Not knocking your pick Ace because it's clearly a value this late. But does anybody else think that if it took Brees three years to become any good with the Chargers, that the Saints might be overestimating what they're gonna get out of him? I'm just not sold on the idea that he's gonna be as good in New Orleans as he finally ended up being in San Diego, especially behind a line that doesn't have much chemistry.
Bingo.

He's definately become an extremely talented QB, but he won't put up the same numbers without LT and Antonio Gates.

I agree totally but Bulger was my other pick and he just throws too many INT's at least Brees with this supporting cast can just manage the game..........hopefully. I thought for just a second on taking Favre then I thought better. He wont be the player he was in SD, I do believe they overpaid but kinda in the same way as the seahawks and redskins did with Peterson and Carter.
