Me and another guy are throwing around an idea and I wanted to see what you all think.
We're talking about putting together a website where you can sign up and create your own mock drafts that look something like this. (http://www.ninercaphell.com/2006mock)
It'd be operated on the user end similar to a message board interface, nothing too complicated. It'd be setup in a way that you could have one-seven rounds and you could update it however you like.
I don't think this has been done before, so I'm interested in hearing anyone's thoughts on this.
Would you use it?
Has it been done before?
What other ideas do you have that might make it more interesting to prospective users?
Right now this is just in the idea stages, but I'd like to try and put this together if it could generate some real interest.
Has it been done before?

I guess I should change the question to, could it be done better?
Definitely, yes. I loved the layout on your site, much better than a plain white with black and blue letters.

I think the site is all about the draft. No roster trades.

I've started working on adding that feature to my site for now, I'll think about doing a whole site next year perhaps since I can reuse the code for it.
When I get the initial version done I'll let a couple people here try it out to see how it works.

You can trade on it. I'd be interested NCH when its up and running.
Thoughts to make it better than the site listed above:
1. Make it so you can veiw and deleat any pick you made, not just the one previous to the pick your on.
2. Allow users to set up their own big board that can be used in the process of making the mock.
3. A way of viewing said mock like you had on your test page.
Dont knowhow tough that is to incorporate but those are my thoughts.

Baseball's draft is unlimited... you can draft as many people as you want. :yikes:

"22. San Francisco (from Denver via Washington)
HB DeAngelo Williams, Memphis
3-4 OLB, FS and CB are all bigger needs but its very difficult to pass up possibly the best pure RB in the draft. The poor production by Barlow, Gore's neverending questionable injury status and Nolan raving about Williams at the Senior Bowl, the big move up ends up surprising many expecting Carpenter or a DB.
Others considered: LB B. Carpenter, CB A. Cromartie, SS D. Bing"
wow.. glad that was wrong!

They're usually 22-25 rounds with around 12 teams so you have to know up to 330 players but they have default rankings that help a lot.

* A 'Draft tracker' once a player is selected with an automatic feature to advise the next team to select and its Time deadline in PST/EST.
* Feature to be able to "check off" or "highlight" players that have already been selected on your big board.
* Some sort of "Trade tracker" feature
* A grading feature for trades that adds into a certain % of your overall final grade. Maybe somthing similar to our board "Rep" function.
* Automatic grading feature for each team that auto-calculates and let you know the Top 3-5 Mock players at the end with the highest grades, and thus the winner.
* Obviously a "Rosters" fuction that can be manipulated by each user. Also each "Roster" should be the exact same standard for everyone.

great ideas blade and i think you should get 100 points for trading a dead guy 1 month after he died for a very good corner

The version I'm working on right now will not be anywhere near this, but it's just a simple version that will be ready well before this year's draft. I'm thinking of making a new site altogether as my project over the summer.
