Seahawks | Team acquires safety Green
Tue, 25 Apr 2006 12:20:05 -0700
The Associated Press reports the Seattle Seahawks acquired veteran FS Mike Green from the Chicago Bears for a sixth-round draft pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.
I like the move. Since our 6th rounder is practically a 7th rounder, I'm pretty impressed with getting a starting caliber safety with the pick. Good insurance plan for Ken Hamlin.

Yup. Great trade, in my opinion. Green is a decent player, and makes a great contingency plan should Hamlin suffer a setback.

He wouldn't need insurance if he would stay out of bars......:fishing:

Nah, nah, nah. "When his side of the story is heard", the truth will all come to light, we'll all see that he was framed, and he will be vindicated.
Ain't that right, Ricky? :nana:

All you guys that think the Seahawks made out like bandits... are you sure you're not confusing Mike Green with Mike Brown?
Mike Green = Backup who didn't start last year. Inconsequential player, really.
Mike Brown = Top-notch DB and star of the Bears' defensive backfield.
Mike Brown >>>>>> Mike Green.

Yeah, Green is inconsequential. He had over a hundred tackles in 2004 (and 129 a couple years before).
I'd call getting someone like that two picks before the start of the 6th round "making out like bandits."

As good a defensive coach as Lovie is I imagine there were issues to this trade and there is a reason for it. By the way Green has slowed down a lot in the last two years but heck for a 6th rounder you can't beat that. Good trade but wait on results for you guys seachicken....GO 49ers!

Keep in mind that we're not planning on depending on him to start (assuming Hamlin doesn't have any setbacks). Compared to Marquand Manuel, this guy has tons of experience and is an immediate upgrade. For a borderline 7th rounder, this is a no brainer.

Great, great trade by the Seahawks. I'm 100% sure the Falcons wanted to try a similar trade becasue the Seahawks and Falcons do the exact same thing.
