Wow is CJ a great prospect....I dont see how he gets past #1 or #2...but I guess he could fall to #4...but no lower...
6'5" - 239 lbs - 4.35
Jason Hill might be a nice prospect to look at in round two now that the questions about his speed are answered...
And the "trade up to get CJ!" threads will multiply like bunnies.

This guy is going to really be something at WR. We're pretty much not even close to getting him. No team in their right mind will let him get away. I want to see Bowe and Pual Williams, they are more likely to be around by our pick tho, I don't want a WR that high.

Jason Hill is the guy we want in the 2nd/3rd round
very successful receiver who always seemed to get the better of damieon hughes (projected 1st/2nd rounder)

Are there any Washington State fans who can comment on Jason Hill's hands and route running?
This past season it looks like the junior from Hawaii, Bumpus, was the go to receiver more so than Hill. Hill seemed like the one to rely on for fade routes and long plays.
Cheers
Robert Meachem ALSO ran under 4.4 :yikes:

Washington State fan here, somewhat, more of my Dad is, but thats besides the point. Jason Hill has really good hands actually, He was projected to have a huge season but go injured this past year so his numbers slipped a bit, not sure about his route running skills but i believe that he is pretty darned good at that too. I've been saying we should get Jason Hill for a long time now in the 3rd round..hopefully he will fall that far but I'm not sure now that his 40 time was so good. I think something is to be said about his work ethic here because everyonewas projecting him to run about a 4.45 at the combine. He proved a lot of people wrong on that, including myself. But yeah to answer your question again, Jason Hill has great hands and adequate route running abilities, probably better than most in the draft in my mind. Here are his Collegiate stats:
Year GP Rec Yds YPC TD
2004 11 45 1,007 22.4 12
2005 10 62 1,097 17.7 13
2006 10 41 600 14.6 7
Here are his strengths as said by NFLDraftcountdown.com:
Has good size with a strong, solid build...Runs good routes and just knows how to get open...Physical and knows how to use his body...Was extremely productive and a big play threat...Hands are big and reliable...Good body control and adjusts well to poorly thrown balls...Natural athlete with good quickness who plays faster than he times...Agile and elusive in the open field...Has a nose for the endzone.
Reading that just made me like him even more...

But a smart puss nonetheless. Lotsa 4.3+ guys are stealing the show and he knows he won't be able to crack his time below 4.5

I am from So Cal, so I watch a lot of the PAC 10 and I did see some of the clips from the Senior Bowl. Jason Hill is a stud. From what I have seen of him, he is a competitor, go-to guy with leadership ability. He is mature and composed. Lots of YAC. The knock against him was his height and 40 speed. With that time, I think he will be an early 2nd round pick.
I think he is better then Steve Smith (From a USC fan), and I would pick him before Ginn Jr. I know that is heresy among some members of this board, but this guy can play.

I didn't realize Hill had that kind of speed. He's a smooth route runner, and now he's proven he's got some wheels...I think he's helped his cause quite a bit. Definate 2nd rounder now.

What about Steve Smith running a 4.37? Do you think he'll go into the 2nd now also?

Could be. Hill and Smith were the two 'possession' guys I thought would come off the board early third. Smith helped his cause too. They're both probably 2nd rounders now.

Washington State fan here as well - I have been calling for Jason Hill - he can PLAY. As a Jr he was projected anywhere from a 1st rounder to a high 3rd - but as stated earlier he was limited by injury this year - which I feel caused him to slip a bit this year.
Out of the Senior bowl he was mentioned as one of the most polished recievers there, and did score a TD in the game - which he did often @ WSU.
If the above statement is true - holy ****! Hill must have been working on his speed the past few months becuase I never really thought of him as a burner. He's not a "sleeper" anymore that's for sure!
He just made himself some :money:.

4.37:sam:
nice time, i would definately like to see him on the niners if we could draft him in the second.
Yeah but it's not like on his Pro Day they'll forget about the times ran at the combines
They won't forget about Calvin Johnson, that's for sure!
