Nolan - note this! I know you´ve already seen what DeAngelo can do in the Senior Bowl. Please make him a 49er!!!

If we got Hawk at 6, I wouldn't be surprised at all if we drafted Williams.
But, if we take Vernon 6th, I don't think we go offense again in the first round.

he plays very fast. Plus he's a locker room presence. If we don't get VD i can see him as our pick. Barlow is a better FB than Terry Jackson.

I can see Nolan taking DeAngelo if he's there at #22.

man am I the only person who has no interest in DW with Gore, Hicks and Barlow already on the roster and Jackson capable of filling in?

only way it happens is if VD is off the board at 6 and then Williams falls to 22

I wouldnt mind seeing Deangelo picked at 22, but I would prefer an OLB. We are gonna get some kick *** players either way.

I agree. If Davis isnt around come pick 6 and the Niners end up taking Hawk or Huff, I could possibly see them taking DeAngelo with the 22nd pick, depending on who is around.
I still doubt it though.

So say we do draft DeAngelo....What RB takes the high road? Of course it'd probably be Barlow...We can't keep a 3 headed monster of Barlow Gore and Williams:unsure:

Williams at the 22nd is very possible. He would work well and Gore would be a great back up for him. We could trade Barlow for a pick that would net us a DB or TE (depending on who we take with 6). That kind of thing would work very well if we get Hawk or even Brick at 6 but I think we will be selecting Davis.

Spending a high round draft pick on a RB would tie up a huge amount of money in one position, as we already have Barlow's big contract, and Gore.
It just doesn't make much sense. And if the 49ers draft V. Davis, who can play HB as well as TE, then we certainly doen't need a high round RB.
Considering our needs at other positions, we don't really need a RB in this draft in any round.

Something is definitely wrong with the offense. It's either the line, backfield, or QB. It might be any combination, or all 3. I'm not sold on the RBs. I think there's a lot to be desired. The team seems pretty committed to them. Lots of 'experts' say RB has the least dropoff in talent from top to bottom. Fantasy players beg to differ. I've read a few posts that our offensive line is talented. Nobody is ready to cast off Mr Smith. We just signed some WRs. Everything is pointing to TE. Nolan is a defense guy. D Williams took a lot of punishment at Memphis. The odds are stacked against D. Williams.
