In the minds of many evaluators, including PFW resident draft analyst Nolan Nawrocki, there is a considerable gap between QBs JaMarcus Russell and Brady Quinn.

The way we hear it, it is Quinn, not Russell, who Nawrocki and a growing contingent of teams think will be the better pro. And perhaps to the surprise of many draft fans, more of the teams we consulted had finished their pre-Combine draft meetings thinking Quinn would be the better pro.

Multiple teams that have begun digging into Russell's background have been turned off by his lazy work habits and immaturity. When he took off his shirt at the Combine weigh-ins and exposed a very soft, fleshy body filled with baby fat, the concerns immediately heightened for one top-10 team that PFW spoke with, revealing what some consider to be the tip of the iceberg.

Could quinn go number 1 overall?

I have to say after Russells interviews at the combine I'm starting to get the feeling he is not overly motivated to be a great player. I'm starting to believe this is a pretty poor QB class from top to bottom. If either of these guys came out last year I'd have them no higher than fourth QB and maybe behind the Jets second round QB as well.

Is he not starting to sound more and more like an Oakland Raider?

to be honest, Quinn is probably a better QB prospect than all the QB's last year. either way i agree on Russell. he doesn't seem to be taking this whole thing serious at all........exactly why he is a perfect fit in Oak-town! :dance3:

ya i'm not high on Quinn at all I just think he is about as good as he is going to get, buckles under pressure and has questionable decision making, but JR is certainly suited for the Raider Nation.

Long Live Al Davis afterall its one less smart decision we have to worry about.

J. Russell has all of the things that Al Davis normally likes in that position. Which is basically a big arm that can spread the deffense. Thats why he also likes the fast WR's.

I think Quinn is the better QB, but the Raiders will likely go JR, or possibly CJ if they can get a good trade for Moss.

Quinn is NFL ready but Russell has more upside and will be the more dominate.

I have to say listening to JR being interviewed jus made me not like him. He seemed unintelligent and just lazy. And he put on 10 lbs of weight and didn't really deny that he hasn't done **** since the season was over. Here is what I like about Quinn that i dont think JR has...I think Quinn will enoy coming to work everyday and he will take work seriously...JR just seems so laid back and stuff...there is just something about him, I cant put my finger on it...but there is just something about him that I don't like much. I think Quinn will be the better QB bottom line...

but technically Al Davis never drafts QB's early, so if anyhting neither QB would be appealing to him.

I think CJ is probably BPA, and would be my pick if I was the raiders. I could probably get Stanton in the 2nd round and an OL in the 3rd, and be quit happy.

if you've watched Russel play, than you'd realize how incredibly accurate he is. he can drop a ball in a two inch target while the receiver is on the run.

he doesn't just have great power, he has great accuracy. the only real downside to him right now is that he waits to long for plays and throws the ball after the receiver is open. he isn't anticipating the play like he should be. that is something that any QB can be taught though.

Maybe Russell put on the weight to try to scare the Raiders from drafting him.

he said he wants to slim down between now and the draft.

actually that is one of if not the hardest thing to teach a QB. its very veyr difficult to teach a QB to anticipate a play. usually a QB has it or he doesn't.

it all depends on the coach. plenty of quarterbacks come in from college unfamiliar with these kind of things.

It was a joke. Also, the article in the first post said that the Browns are very interested in Russell too.

yeah, if the raiders don't take Russel, the browns will probably take him. i think they need a quarterback more than a running back right now(Peterson).
