I originally responded to this post and I hoped that people might jump in and address some of the questions I had posed.
Rock has some really good points but I have some concerns about his selections and where teams might actually go.
Let's hear what you've got to say about this.

ROUND ONE
1. Houston Texans: Reggie Bush - RB, USC
2. New Orleans Saints: D'Brickashaw Ferguson - OT, Virginia
I like your pick for New Orleans here. They got Brees and they need to protect him and Brick would be a very long term solution. nfldraftcountdown thinks they'll go with Mario which I disagree. They have good Ends... they need DTs. I'm with you. They don't pass on Brick. From the Jets website: "But the Saints (#2) have stated emphatically that last year’s first-round pick Jamaal Brown is now the team’s LT. Sounds like a smokescreen to us." I also think they're just blowing smoke, but who would you pick for the Saints if they pass on Brick. Would they try to steal Young or would they go Hollywood? What if the Aints go LB/DE and take Mario?
3. Tennessee Titans: Vince Young - QB, Texas
I also agree. Apparently, and I haven't followed the guy's college career, but McNair has been mentoring him. So I would expect the Titans to go for Young and not Hollywood Matt.
4. New York Jets: Mario Williams - DE, NC State
( At this point the New York Jets and Houston Texans make a trade similar to
the Eli Manning / Philip Rivers trade in 04' )
I completely disagree here.
1. Davis didn't even play all 16 games at RB not to mention that he didn't gain 1000 yards and Bush can also play WR and KR or PR. No way does Houston make this trade unless they get picks in this draft. Hell they might even package Davis with a pick or two to get more earlier picks for their Defense.
Is there any chance that the Jets will go Hollywood and find Chad's replacement? They had Broadway Joe... Can they afford to pass on Mario?
5. Green Bay Packers: A.J. Hawk - LB, Ohio St.[/COLOR]
Agreed.
6. San Francisco 49ers: Vernon Davis - TE, Maryland
A game breaker with intangibles for the Niners. Woo Hoo.
7. Oakland Raiders: Matt Leinart - QB, USC
( There is a chance that the Raiders will trade up with the Packers for Leinart.
The picks would remain the same. )
Man you gotta feel at least a little bad for Leinart. He could have been a Niner with a storied history of franchise QBs but he stayed... he got played by V. Young.. hehe.. and now he's probably gonna end up a Fader with the worst owner in the league as his boss.
8. Buffalo Bills: Winston Justice - OT, USC
Gotta replace Jennings.
9. Detroit Lions: Michael Huff - S, Texas
Agreed. It's about time Detroit put some players on D.
10. Arizona Cardinals: Jay Cutler - QB, Vanderbilt
I realize that Arizona gave up on McCown and they have named Warner as their starter. I think they might go Defense here and go LB or S. What do you say about that?
11. St. Louis Rams: Broderick Bunkley - DT, Florida St.
Agreed. They need to replace Ryan Pickett.
12. Cleveland Browns: Haloti Ngata - DT, Oregon
Agreed. Ted Washington won't last and this kid could supplant him before the season is over.
13. Baltimore Ravens: Jimmy Williams - CB, Virginia Tech
Nice. He can play Corner or Safety. Any chance they give Cromartie the job instead?
Now here's the rub. If Arizona goes Defense and picks Greenway, Sims or Williams that will definitely affect our 22nd.
14. Philadelphia Eagles: Chad Greenway - LB, Iowa
15. Denver Broncos: Chad Jackson - WR, Florida
16. Miami Dolphins: Donte Whitner - S, Ohio St.
Nope. They just got Dante and they will want to give him a receiver to throw to. They took good looks at Jackson and Holmes and Jackson will be gone... so it will be Holmes but I see why you say Whitner. It wouldn't be a bad choice.
17. Minnesota Vikings: Ernie Sims - LB, Florida St.
I realize the the Vikes need a LB for their new D, but if Jay Cutler falls to them at 17 can they pass on him? Remember... nobody picked Rodgers to drop to 22nd or whatever. Okay... well Knobs did but most people didn't. heh j/k
So factor in what Dallas, KC, the Pats do prior to us picking if the Vikes go QB. It may not matter if Arizona goes LB instead of QB. The order would then pretty much stay the same. EX: Arizona goes for Sims and the Vikes go for Cutler and everything stays the same. But if they both go LB they we might lose out on Wimbley.
The real wildcard is the Aints. If they Go Qb then Brick falls a few spaces... maybe to us at 6! Can we pass on that guy?
18. Dallas Cowboys: Manny Lawson - DE/LB, NC State
19. San Diego Chargers: Antonio Cromartie - CB, Florida St.
20. Kansas City Chiefs: Santonio Holmes - WR, Ohio St.
Holmes won't be there and they need Defensive help big time. I say C or somebody like our guy Wimbley.
21. New England Patriots: Bobby Carpenter - LB, Ohio St.
22. San Francisco 49ers: Kamerion Wimbley - DE/LB, Florida St.
I'm not too concerned with what happens after we pick. I'm more curious to see if we try to move up from 22 to get one of the top Pass Rushers and what the Aints do. If they AREN'T blowing smoke it will affect our 6th and everything after it.
Plus who knows for sure if Arizona is going to invest in Cutler. Is he all that or would it be better to get some immediate defensive help and try to develop a guy 2nd or 3rd rounder? The same goes for the Vikes. What if they go LB and let the QB spot pass. There could be a huge run on LB/DE Pass Rushers.
This will be a very interesting draft. I think the Niners are in an excellent position to make some moves and possibly pick up more picks or a veteran player to aid our defense.
I'm interested to hear what everyone has to say about this. Toss your two cents!
Go Niners!
