Article talks about how future free agents will want to get paid big based on the contracts that are being handed out.

Guess which players agents said this:
One agent, with a prominent player still under contract, hinted that his star might not report to training camp now that he appears to be so grossly underpaid in the new market being set

I am going with the agent of Deangelo Hall. On the falcons board and NFLN they were already talking about he possibility of this and they type of contract that he would demand.

Hall is good, but he toots his own wistle A LOT.

How anyone couldnt have seen this comming after they signed the CBA is beyond me, and this is just more banter by the uninformed about what the contracts are really worth and their effective time frames.

Dukes, the NFLN, and people that think Hall is one of the top couple CB's in the league are retarded. he definitely isn't better than Clements either, those guys on the NFLN that said Hall is way better than clements must be retarded as well.

these analysts need to actually watch these guys play and stop listening to Deion Sanders hype sometimes.

I saw that this morning, Jamie Dukes that when when Hall becomes a FA that he can easily get 100M in his next contract. Also, The other guy (I can't remember his name) said that the 49ers were crazy for spending that type of money on a player that's not even a top 15 CB. Clements is easily a top 5 CB in the league IMO.

Knobs, I guess you must think I'm retarted because I really think that D Hall is one of the better CB's in the league.

DeAngelo is good..not great...and has a lot of potential with that blazing speed of his..he just needs to learn to be more physical at the line I think and despite his speed I saw a ton of highlights when he got burned which tells me he doesnt recover well when he gets burned...he is supposed to be a CB that can be left on an island with that type of speed. He coulle potentially be a very good corner...10th at best in the league...no more though...and i only really say 10 because of his speed...and keep in mind the dude is still really young so he has a ton of room to grow...

Hall would probably get $100million, with the same sort of deal Clements got $80million in.

In 2005, he was, but in 2006 he lapsed and became average. Some guys he played great and his side of the field was on lock. Others he was just as bad as everyone else in our secondary. He can be one of the top CBs in the league because of his physical gifts. He has incredible top speed, incredible quickness, works his way through traffic (after INTs he basically becomes a punt returner) and he has an outstanding vertical. However, he's very emotional and impressionable. When he's not having instant success in a game he becomes lackadaisical and becomes his own worst enemy. Like the TO deep ball, he had the right call on coverage. Played off, backpeddled, and then he looked for the ball and bam, he's beat.

When he's thinking right, the guy can really be a nice CB to watch. He tackles well, keeps receivers in front of him and he will play the run. But when he's off, you start wondering if we should call him DeAngelina more often.

P.S. If/when Hall signs an extension, he's getting between 20-25 million guaranteed and probably 100 million total in the contract. Especially when you consider that when his rookie contract (if it last all the way) ends, he'll only be 26.

Yeah i totally agree with that. Hall is a good CB also. He does get beat, and isn't as good as his ego thinks he is, but he is still a top 10 CB
