When he played for the niners they always talked about how he was a roofer.

He was a roofer when he was with that fake football league run by Vince.

During his time off from football, he is a FedEx truck driver.
Ouch that either sucks or he needs to find a new hobby

Agreed. Somebody remind me why we're doggin' Cortez when KR Michael Lewis - a.k.a. "Beer Man" - is revered for his determination to go from beer truck driver to NFL wide receiver.
I don't get the joke.
The Beer Man has been in the league for 7 years and all with the Saints while Cortez has bounced around with different teams. Now if he was to sign with the Seahawks, you'd understand the joke then.

I think what you all mean is that when Jose Cortez is not shipping for Fedex he's a Kicker. I sure hope he's better at shipping than kicking.

Don't bash one because of what/how/ and why they do it. One makes a fool of themselves when they know they have been there and forgot all about it.

It was pretty embarrassing signing him again in 2005 for like a game after Nedney went down.

come on guys I would much rather have Jose Cortez than Kwame Harris. Kwame Harris is a cancer, at least Jose Cortez could be brushed off to the side.

I live near Cortez as well. Just like a lot of players his career didnt pan out. and as much as he has bounced around the league.. kickers still get paid very little and especially him since most of the time he was put in just to kick kickoffs and save the foot of an older veteran PA kicker. and was only hired for short contracts.. i dont blame him for delivering packages. a man still has to earn a living. Its a lot better than other jobs.
