Thought it was pretty cool. I work at a mall in San Jose, and he came into my store. I was with a customer, but I could instantly recognize him. My employee helped him out, and rang him up. When she rang him up, he used a credit card, and I could see the name on the card and his ID, so when he left I said that I was a big 49ers fan and was happy to have him on board this season.

Didn't talk to him long enough to be able to see if he's a "cool guy" or not, though I'm sure he is, but it was a cool experience none the less.

So, with that, I've SEEN Vernon Davis, Brandon Williams, and Dana Stubblefield in the mall. I THINK I've had Isaac Sopoaga come into my store a couple times, and now I've met Tully Banta-Cain, to add to my list of Mike Rumph and Cedrick Wilson that I met at Dave & Buster's bar in Milpitas (at separate times), on top of the numerous players I've met at training camp. Always fun stuff. Just thought I'd share the experience.

So he's already spending the money he got. That's cool... what store do you work at by the way. Valley Fair Mall right?

Nope, Eastridge. I work at FYE, the music store.

He didn't spend a lot of money, he just bought like a iPod case, hehe.

Eastridge? I used to live near there and the only people that I've seen at that mall are wanna-be thugs and hoochie mommas.

Not that much anymore. The mall is pretty clean now if you haven't been there yet(remodeled). I think it was because of that World Foot Locker selling all those tall tees to little kids.

HAHAHA the mall is all redone and brand new looking real nice and hi class but all the customers are still young thugs running around. the mall is clean now but the people are all the same. it took like 2 days for the bathrooms to be all tagged up top to bottom.

Me?

We didn't really have a conversation.

I just asked him, as he was leaving, if he was Tully Banta-Cain, and he said yea. So I said "I just heard you signed today, good to have you on board. I'm a big 49ers fan" and he just said "Thanks" and shook my hand.

Did ya offer a handshake or did he start the handshake, if he started it. He seems like a good guy!

Yeah, Tully sounds like a nice guy in the video on 49ers.com home page. If you haven't watched it, you should.

In fact, watching those videos on our new players is a good way of getting an inkling of their personalities...Do go there now and check them out!

I always go to the home page for the NEWS first before checking out the MB. Excellent plan of action for all fans...

I've met Joe Montana on the elevator here at my work. He's a cool guy.

Also, me and my friends kicked it at Barry Bonds house in 2002 when he used to live in Hillsborough. We hung out for about 1 hour. My friend was doing wheelies in front of his house. This is the time Barry was into Sportsbikes. He's a real cool guy.

Just from reading this post and having seen Dana Stubblefield at my former place of work (drug store in the nice part of East San Jose), I'm assuming that a lot of Niners live near the Silver Creek Country Club.

I also saw Dana Stubblefield at the same mall I met Banta-Cain. I've also seen Vernon Davis and Brandon Williams together at the mall. None of them came into my store, but I saw all 3 of them there.

It's Eastridge Mall, so yea, it's on the East Side.
