Not this season. It's something they're looking into. Takes a few years to get it done if it's done.

I like the current ones better, besides the old one are too plain they remind my of the old Arizona Cardinals unis.

I like the new ones. The old ones in the steve young years are very basic, which I don't mind, I like them too, with the white pants, but the guys basically wear them in training, so they get that 49ers history reminder every training session.

I don't mind the old gold pants, I think wearing the old classic uni's 2-3 times a year is good enough.

I remember hearing Nolan talk about it on the radio, i think KNBR, last year, and he was in agreeance with bringing them back as the real uniform, but i think it was just one of those fun conversations, no real importance about it. I don't think they're going to change back.

Maybe they can be our playoff uni's??

I like the new uni's, but I enjoy seeing them play in the "classic" uni for certian games. Kind of like the day in oh about 3 years from now when Jerry "The Great" Rice earns his HOF ring.

The old school ones were great....for the OLD SCHOOL.

They are great for certain games like once a year. But having them all year long would not be a good look. Plus its like living in the past, those times are over. It's time for these new and improving 49ers to build their own legact.

I really just don't like the new jerseys, I guess it just reminds me of these last 3 years. I say change the whole jersey format and just keep the colors and logo.

No. I like the gold being gold and not some odd mustard color.

There still better than the 94' season unis IMO. You know, the white pants, etc.... :nonono:

I like how it is now. The throwbacks should come out only for a couple games a year.

What i really miss is the white pants and the white jersey in away games. They looked dope.

I always wanted the niners to start wearing the GOLD replica jersey's they sell in stores. GOLD Jersey and GOLD pants would be dope. Something different naw mean?

dude the 94' jerseys were unbeatable when they started wearin em'. And I too think we need to change em up for a bit starting this year. Its a new era, time to blend the old and new school look

I love any change in uniforms. Going back the classics would definitely signal a change in the culture of the team and the organization.

'94 was nice, but I'm with everyone else on bringing back the "Glory" day uni's.

Here's a page with some nice links about the uni change:

I just don't like that nasty red and black stripe that goes down the middle of the helmet. Why did we ditch the classic red and white for that?

That was a throw back uni too. I liked that uni with the shadow numbers and I like the old red (not burgundy or maroon or whatever it is they wear now) that they wore during the dominant years. They haven't done ***** since they changed uni's. I thought I heard they were going back to the old ones this year or maybe it was just wishful thinking.

There still better than the 94' season unis IMO. You know, the white pants, etc.... :nonono:

I just want SOMETHING new to liven things up, the current ones haven't done much for us. I REALLY LIKE THE ONES we used a couple games this season (not sure what they are labeled as though)

I think the team filed the paperwork but i think it can't go into effect until 2008. It will get a mixed reaction if they do based on what I see from the various factions here on the MB.

Somehow I think the people would be able to stave off the bouts of depression and alcoholic binges that would possibly arise from this change. :whistling:

Some fans like the new unis better. Some fans don't want to see the old unis brought back because they feel it might damage their memories of the throwbacks being a part of the dynasty years. There was a huge thread on this a few months back and it got pretty heated.

the 94 uni's were some of the ugliest uni's ever. the only ones i would consider was the throwbacks we wore last year but my prefernce is to keep our current ones.

I'd like to keep the current unis but I hope if they go to the throwbacks, there are some minor changes made.

I really wouldn't mind a retro look to the current unis, simply adopting some of the old traits of the old and incorporating them into the new. I agree that the unis of the glory days look too shabby compared to current stuff out there. But yeah, bring back the original red and the white stripes to the current look (keep the shiny gold pants) and I think that'd look pretty good, while paying a nice homage to the old days.

Our old uni's look a lot better than the new ones. Retro is a fad that needs to go away, bring back the old uni's and Nolan in a suit every week!!!

What a joke this league is about apparel. They sell all of the different uni's all the time, make their money, what difference does it make which one is worn on game day? The team and players should get to pick!!

I'd like something like that too. I think the design of the current unis is more NFL quality but I like the old red better.

yeah i heard that it couldn't kick in until after this season. personally i thought niner fans would like the switch back to the old unis, i know i'm excited about the possibility. were going through a big transitional faze here with a young core and new management. i think switching up the unis would be well timed right about now.

New uniforms > old… in every way.

Leave the past in the past and appreciate it for what it was and start a new legacy.

We pay enough homage (just like ever other NFL team) with our 2 throw back uniform games each year.

No changing of the jerseys.....that means I'm going to have to replace my two authentics....not cool, and the girly will freak out again!!!

Her rationale....1.) you're too old for jerseys, 2.) who cares if he isn't on the team anymore, you can still wear it 3.) they cost how much? do you know how many shoes I can buy with that?

Get to pick?...like some wearing red, some wearing white, some wearing gold...this league is just like all the other sporting leagues...hockey, baseball, basketball, ping pong...You forget who pays part of their salaries and who pays for ANY uni the players wear...why should they have a choice...tell you what, offense wears white home retro 1960 uni's, defense wears red home uni's with runners wearing red pants, OL wearing white pants, QB's wearing nothing so the defense can recognize them better....T.I.C.

Go back to the 1989 throwbacks!!

Don't listen to these people who like the current uniforms!

most of them are probably younger than 20 years old.

Packers, Cowboys, Raiders, Chiefs, Steelers, Colts, and Browns never changed their uniforms.

teams with winning traditions and the benchmark sporting franchises don't change their uniforms.

the only thing they need to change is the white socks with red stripes.

just use the all red socks like they did in the early 90's.

Correction! Steelers changed the font of their numbering!!

If any franchise needs a uniform change, the friggin Browns do!

The classic uniform is superior, and they should return to it. The current one is more suited to an evening at Studio 54. If the front office is still on the fence about this, they should poll the preferences of the faithful.

Classic's would steamroll.

Dallas changed their helmets (Used to be white in the beginning ) .And the Steelers´shirts had a large yellow stripe on the shoulders area in the 50´s or 60´s .
