Go Niners 08

I think I finally have accepted the fact that drafting this guy would be the best option. Landry would be a lot better though, If we draft Landry we have a top 5 group of DB's...That being said, heres a little bit on Nolan and Carriker. lol
You have to give Mike Nolan and this franchise a ton of credit because in just a couple of years they've improved the Niners overall talent level by leaps and bounds and really seem to be on the right path. With that said there is still plenty of work to be done and one area that needs to be addressed is the defensive line, where they still lack a true impact talent. A massive lineman at almost 6-6 and nearly 300 lbs., Carriker is versatile enough to fit in at either end or tackle in a 4-3 or end in a 3-4 scheme and after the performance he put on at the Senior Bowl he could very easily go this high on Draft Day. Wide receiver is a big concern for San Fran as well so Ted Ginn, Jr. could be an intriguing option and a cornerback such as Leon Hall would certainly address a pressing need too but they have to add a difference maker up front and Carriker has a chance to be just that. Amobi Okoye is an option as well but Carriker is a much better match for the style of defense they run so at the end of the day he would be the pick. As a bit of a darkhorse don't rule out Patrick Willis here either because even though he'd be a reach here Nolan did seem to take a shine to him in Mobile at the Senior Bowl and they could certainly use a inside linebacker.
