Cool, but wasn't the first one already set in New York. A while back I had read some where that IV was going to be set in Hawaii.

Yea, idk. Liberty City was said to be influenced by NYC...and i think it was.
but we'll see March 29 as the first official trailer for the game is released.

There's nothing wrong with recycling good locations. People always treat it as a negative aspect when I'd much rather see a significantly improved Liberty City than some really lame setting.

I heard that GTA IV will be a whole new storyline. A new city and new characters all together. Last I heard, Chicago and London, England were the front runner settings.
A poster was wondering if a game as Liberty City was the same as New York. Here are the setting cities for that poster. who was wondering....
GTA Vice City and Vice City Stories is set in Miami.
Liberty City and Liberty City Stories is set in New York.
GTA San Andreas is set in 3 cities: Los Angeles (Los Santos), San Francisco (San Feiro). and Las Vegas (Las Venturas). The mountian regions and the desert is also included in San Andreas.

go there to see the trailer!!
It was just released.
It looks great...the trailer is obviously gameplay from the 360/PS3 version.
There are many landmarks in the game found in NYC including: Time Square, the Empire State Building and the Chrysler Building.
However it is still unclear whether or not it is set in "Liberty City" or NYC...Personally I think it's Liberty City just with added landmarks from NYC...but hopefully I'm wrong and it's a full out representation of NYC.

I'm a little skeptical of the Russian dude...but I trust Rockstar...so it'll probably be good...
Although I don't think theres a way to beat Tommy Vercetti, dude was chill!
