has these 4 names slotted for our 11 spot in first round in this order of his preferrence:

*DE - Adam Carriker
*NT/DE - Okoye
*LB - Patrick Willis
*WR - D. Bowe

Nolan would be very excited to end up with one of them at our 11 spot.

I think Branch may be a consideration at our 11 spot if all the others guys I named above are gone.

I wish the draft would come...so no more threads about draft prospects happen.

Are you kidding... the upcoming draft is one of the most exciting times for many football fans.... how can you  ?

I totally agree. Draft day is only interesting on the day(s) itself. Mock drafts are just all kinds of boring. I don't even think about the draft until it's here. One trade or weird pick can throw everything out of whack and all the speculation goes down the drain in a few seconds.

You mean you dont even think about which player you hope the 9ers will land through the draft?

Wow!!!!

I guess im a fanatic.... I cant wait and read up on any potential draftee I think may become a 9er.

I enjoy the mystery and anticipation of it all.

I really don't care about a player until he actually becomes a Niner. Even then, there is a great chance that the player will take some time to develop or even be a bust so the anticipation isn't that great for me. I feel sorry for all the 49ers fans that spent hours on mock drafts in '04 just to see us draft Rashaun Woods.

I have this gut feeling that Nolan wants to find a good player in the draft.. but don't quote me on that.

I'm not too much into college football. I just watch the 1st round of the NFL draft until I know who we draft. I don't always like seeing countless threads stating who we should/will draft either. But whoever we get, I'll hope he's good for us. :sflogo:

Yeah, that's how I feel. I'm lukewarm to college football too. I watch the 1st round of the draft then read about our picks later on that night. It's hard for me to get excited about names on paper. When I see results, that's a different story.:hyper:

That was a bummer year, freaking Donohue electing to keep trading down, passing on players like Vince Wilfolk.

Are you happy with the 9ers drafts under Nolan?

Sheesh, don't remind me. I'd love to have Wilfork clogging the middle on the D-line right now.
Yes, I'm happy with Nolan's drafts. He's gotten alot of talent so far and established a good, young base for the team.

O RLY???????:chicken:

I love college ball, but I'm with ya, I think the Eagles are going to take one guy from a list of five different people from mock drafts, and then they trade up/down or take somebody I never expected. I have a draft BBQ every year. This year will be no different.

I can say that I am usually pretty excited about the draft, but that excitment stemmed from a string of lousy football seasons that left me with nothing better to look forward too. I already felt good about the way we ended the '06 season, then add in the moves we made in free agency, and these two factors have left this years draft wanting in my opinion.

Of course there are players that I would like to see the team draft, but I dont think about the draft too much. I mostly sit and try to project how next season may play out, that has been exciting. I can’t wait for OTA's, training camp, and just seeing players on the practice field. All of these things are more exciting to me than the draft, mostly because I have a feeling that my beloved 49ers may actually resemble a pro-football team in '07. Peace! :sflogo:

I cant see Bowe being on our radar, he is a much better fit in short throw offenses.

I agree on the first 3, but the 4th name I believe is in there is Levi Brown. (Assuming no chance for Landry who I am quickly becoming a fan of).

I really think Nolan does not want to draft a WR in the first round other than CJ, who takes the crap out of crap shoot. And we know CJ aint gonna be there at 11 even for posters eating mushrooms. Nolan most probably believes Lelie will make a turnaround and be a great pickup, and will make an addition or 2 after the June 1st cuts.

And I dont believe he is as comfortable with Adam Snyder as the RT starter as he was when he extended his contract last year. And "Kwame'd" has become a new verb for pancaked.

I also dont think he is going to go Allan Branch because of Branch's supposed rap as being a bit soft/lazy.

I would not rule out a trade up with the Skins for either Landry or Adams, or a trade down with Giants or Denver. If he trades down with Giants or Denver and Carriker, Willis are gone, I would love to see Nolan take Joe Staley, then trade Smiley for a late 2nd/early 3rd round pick.

I like the 2nd/3rd round value/talent match with WR's better anyway. Guys like Jason Hill, Aundrae Allison, Steve Smith and Anthony Gonzalez all seem like guys that will be good, if not very good pros. Jarrett, Meachem, Ginn and Rice seem to have scary high bust potential to me.
