View Full Version : When did Merton Hanks retire?
I've heard it was after 1998, but I've read on two websites that it was either after the 1999 season, or after the 2001 season. Does anyone really remember?

Hanks finished his career with the Seattle Seahawks, retiring in 2001. He is now a senior manager and assistant director of operations for the National Football League, and regularly goes on speaking tours.

when i heard he was going to play for seattle, i felt like crying. he was by far my favorite 49er growing up. i remember going to a niners/chargers game, i was sitting in the first row on the niners sideline, hanks got a pick and did the funky chicken dance right in fron of us, by far my most memorible niner moment:sf49:

That's one of the sites and I went too, and can't trust fully because anyone can edit the articles. So that doesn't really mean anything to me...
