Round 1
01 - OAK - Calvin Johnson, WR, Georgia Tech - I CANNOT imagine any scenario in which Al Davis passes on CJ. He let himself get talked out of Roy Williams for a bust tackle. No one will be trying too hard to talk him out of this.
02 - CLE - JaMarcus Russell, QB , LSU - Detroit successfully blackmails Cleveland for a 2nd to move up one spot for the 2nd time in 4 years. Detroit gets pick 36. Small chance Cleveland gets a day 2 pick this year or next back.
03 - DET - Joe Thomas, OT, Wisconsin - Millen might even move down again, but even with his clueless owner he doesn't have time to wait on another franchise QB.
04 - TB - Gaines Adams, DE, Clemson - This is the nightmare top 3 for Tampa. I think they'd love to draft Thomas and put Petitgout at RT, but Gruden won't throw away a pick for Millen's blackmail. I expect their phone to ring, but Miami and Houston won't offer up enough to pry away this pick.
05 - HOU - Brady Quinn, QB, Notre Dame - 2 trades in the top ten is fairly unlikely, and history says most teams will balk at prices and stay put. But Miami and Houston are sitting back to back praying he drops. Meanwhile, Arizona wants Levi Brown more than anyone else, but the Bidwills want to pay him less. Recipe for a trade. It costs Houston a 2nd this year and a 3rd next year.
06 - WAS - Alan Branch, DT, Michigan
07 - MIN - Laron Landry, S, LSU - They just can't talk themselves into a WR. They consider Jamaal Anderson, but opt to give a healthy Udeze a year across from a healthy James.
08 - ARI - Levi Brown, OT, Penn State
09 - MIA - Amobi Okoye, DT, Louisville - This is where Buffalo and/or Green bay may start working the phones about Adrian Peterson, but I expect both to balk at the price.
10 - ATL - Jamaal Anderson, DE, Arkansas
11 - BUF - Adrian Peterson - Moving up one spot from a team that has Frank Gore might seem odd, but we get just enough interest from Green Bay about this pick that we blackmail Buffalo to move up. We get their 3rd, they get the Barlow 4th
12 - SF - Adam Carriker, DE, Nebraska
13 - STL - Leon Hall, CB, Michigan
14 - CAR - Dwayne Bowe, WR, LSU - A number of WRs could come off the board around now, and it really depends on who bites first. Ginn is unlikely when they have Smith. Jarrett is possible but may slip. Meachem is a bit more of a downfield guy.
15 - PIT - Jarvis Moss, DE, Florida - I think Pittsbugh believes he can stand up OR play 4-3, and they will want pass rush from both fronts as they slowly transition.
16 - GB - Marshawn Lynch, RB, Green Bay
17 - JAX - Reggie Nelson, S, Florida
18 - CIN - Justin Blalock, OT/OG, Texas - The price of interior linemen is skyrocketing, so Cincy gets the surest bet for a LG.
19 - TEN - Ted Ginn Jr, WR, Ohio State - For the second straight year, Norm Chow wants a USC reunion, and for the 2nd straight year, he is overruled in favour of a 'sexier' pick.
20 - NYG - Patrick Willis, LB, Mississipi
21 - DEN - Dwayne Jarrett, WR, USC - I think Mike Shanahan would rather get Bowe here, but Jarrett falls, so he steps in line to succeed Rod Smith across from Javon.
22 - DAL - Chris Houston, CB, Arkansas
23 - KC - Robert Meachem, WR ,Tennessee - KC are in desperate need of OT help, but decide they can't pass up Meachem for Staley or Ugoh.
24 - NE - Darrelle Revis, CB, Pitt
25 - NYJ - Anthony Spencer, DE/OLB, Purdue
26 - PHI - Paul Poluszny, LB, Penn State
27 - NO - Brandon Meriweather, S, Miami
28 - TB - Joe Staley - Having missed Joe Thomas in the first round, Gruden fires another round. He wants this o-line fixed. Tampa gives up their 3rd and 7th and gets NE's 5th.
29 - BAL - Ben Grubbs, G, Auburn
30 - SD - Lawrence Timmons, LB, FSU
31 - CHI - Arron Sears, OG/OT, Tennessee
32 - IND - Aaron Ross, CB, Texas
Round 2
33 - OAK - Tony Ugoh, OT, Arkansas
34 - DET - Ryan Kalil, C, USC - He could go much higher, but at the end of the first are several teams with excellent C's
35 - NE - Lamarr Woodley, DE/OLB, Michigan
36 - DET - Drew Stanton, QB, Michigan State - Yes, he goes this high. Matt Millen's latest attempt to make people think he's a genius, trying to get a 2nd round QB who outplays the first rounders.
37 - CHI - Jon Beason, LB, Miami
38 - ARI - Brian Leonard, FB/RB, Rutgers
39 - SF - Sidney Rice, WR, S. Carolina - Houston are caught off guard but the early run on top line prospects. They call up SF and inquire about Justin Smiley. They get Smiley and the 3rd we got from Buffalo. We look at trading back out of here but get no good enough offers.
40 - MIA - Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame - Too many teams looking for o-line. They don't like the value but they don't dare wait.
41 - MIN - Anthony Gonzalez, WR, Ohio State
42 - SF - David Harris, ILB, Michigan
43 - BUF - Brandon Siler, LB, Florida
44 - ATL - Michael Griffin, S, Texas
45 - CAR - Aaron Rouse, S/LB, Virginia Tech
46 - PIT - Justin Harrell, DT, Tennessee
47 - GB - Greg Olsen, TE, Miami
48 - JAX - Victor Abiramiri, DE, Notre Dame
49 - CIN - Jonathan Wade, CB, Tennessee
50 - TEN - DeMarcus Tyler, DT, NC State
51 - NYG - Kenny Irons, RB, Auburn
52 - STL - Rufus Alexander, LB, Oklahoma
53 - DAL - Steve Smith, WR, USC
54 - KC - Marcus MacAuley, CB, Fresno St
55 - SEA - Zach Miller, TE, Arizona St
57 - PHI - Tim Crowder, DE, Texas
58 - NO- David Irons, CB, Auburn
59 - NYJ - Ikaika Alama Francis, DE, Hawaii
60 - MIA - Jason Hill, WR, Washington State
61 - BAL - Quentin Moses, DE/LB, Georgia
62 - SD - Eric Wright, CB, UNLV
63 - NYJ - Craig Davis, WR, LSU
64 - TB - Aundrae Allison, WR, East Carolina[/QUOTE]
2 round mock drafts are hard. my head hurts. San Francisco targets Manuel Ramirez or Josh Beekman with their 3rd, perhaps even jumping a few spots.
