Most likely he will go in as a 49er being he spent his first 8 years with SF. I know there are mixed feelings from our fanbase now...but will that all be forgiven if he makes it to Canton?? Will our fans wear his throwbacks??

You had to do it, didn't you! Things were just fine without any mention of that 'a**h*le'!:nonono:
Note: IMO, this doesn't belong in this forum, it belongs in The National Football League forum.

IF he get to the HOF I'm probably done with football. Nothing he has done in the NFL should merit such an Honor. Career stats, yearly stats nothing you can pull from his carreer makes him worthy imo.
Of course the non Niner fan in me is more realistic, its sad but he probably will if he stays in football a couple more years. HOS is what i'll call it after that happens Hall of Shame.

Ehh.. I might.. I don't have my TO jersey anymore. I loved seeing him play for the 49ers. He always made the games exciting. I always wanted his 49er throwback jersey. That looked sweet!!

His character, unfortunately, isnt going to be whats in the HOF its his talents personally I can care less if he get in the HOF at all if character counted in selecting HOF nominees he definately shouldnt be inducted.

You know... we could add Donovan McNabb to the list, too.

Or Andy Reid.
Heck, maybe Bill Parcells would like to introduce "The Player".

His career does warrant HOF consideration. However, I hope he goes in as a Cowboy. His sickening attitude and ridculous antics does not reflect the legacy of the 49ers. He's much more at home in the low class sideshow that is Dallas Cowboys football. They can have him.

My thoughts exactly or the Raiders you know they'll take anyone their trash collectors (with the exception of Jerry Rice)

Whoever thinks that TO deserves to be in the HOF is on crack.Sure he is talented but there is a lot of retired players out there that are talented and deserves to be in the HOF better than that piece os %$&@.Guys like John Brodie,Roger Craig or even John Taylor.TO and HOF do not go together,he needs to be in the Hall of Shame instead because he is a disgrace to the sport.

I don't hate TO, but he's not HOF worthy, when his time in football is over I think it will be clear to many that in his last years he was seriously overrated. Not because i'm a Niner fan, but I believe his only good time in football was with SF, and because he wasn't so obnoxious at SF. Other then that he's been a cry baby super bowl chaser who's talent has diminished.

Who would even introduce him? His daughter? Deion? obviously not McNabb or Mooch. Maybe Young, in Young's interviews you always got the big brother vibe whever he talked about Owens.

I hate the guy, but to say he doesn't get HOF consideration is silly.
801 Rec. 11715 Yds. 14.6 Avg. 114 TDs. Kick's Irvin's ***, and that ******** got in. One or two more good seasons statistically and I don't see how TO can be kept out.

I have to admit, I was a big fan of TO till his head got too big for his helmet. Everytime he touched the ball during his later years with SF, he was a threat to opposing defenses. Its just ashame he never had the personality to complement his talent.:nonono:
Weather we like this guy or not...with his current stats, he's knocking on the door in Canton.
What puzzels me is who's gonna step up to introduce him?
BigPaul

J.J. Stokes, he could use the publicity.

T.O. will wear a cap pointing down and have a holographic image of himself introduce him.

There are players who have better stats that are waiting and there are players he has better stats than that are in. He'll end up in the same situation as Irvin. There'll be a debate about his on field stats/ability vs his off field persona/attitude. I won't feel the league is being disserviced for inviting the player in, but I also won't feel to saddened for him if he isn't invited it.
NFL HoF bylaws specifically state that admission is based STRICTLY on a player's on-the-field performance. Owens has a pretty good case for himself on that basis.
KevinM

Bylaws are a great thing to have but it's still HUMANS voting. Which means as long as HUMANS vote by laws can be ignored.
One would hope... but LT and Irvin got in anyway. LT was more of a serious weirdo and headcase... Irvin is a hypocrite and what I would call a bad person.

If Terrell Owens makes the Hall of Fame, my Labrador retriever should too. He has NO business being there. He may be a gifted wide receiver, but he is the worst example of an NFL player.:pullhair: :pullhair: :pullhair:

True that.A player does not get voted to the HOF with just talent alone and TO is not all that he is just plain overrated!!!

I think the HOF should include famous football players. The players who stood out from the crowd. The people who had a lasting effect on the game.

Best post in this thread.
I think he'll wind up getting in, he has the numbers to eventually get in, and I could see him playing another 2-3 years which could could put him over the 1,000 career catches mark. If he wins a SB in the next few years (I hope not), then that would really help his case as well.

I wouldnt want him in the HOF as a Niner. He didnt give S's about the team when he was here so why would he wear our hat for the hall?
BTW, I think he'll get in. Hes been too dominant for too long to not get in.

This is why I compare him to Irvin in how he gets in. He may get "overlooked" for a year or two before getting in.
If I had a vote, he'd go in on the first ballot. Well over 100 TDs and he's not done. He's in.
I'd also kick him in the nuts if I thought I could get run fast enough to escape a Terrell Owens who had just been kicked in the nuts.

Technically, players don't go into the HOF under a team banner (unlike baseball). Fans will always associate a player with a certain franchise more than others, but there is no official designation.

How many brawls has he been involved in? How many DUI's does he have? Based on these things alone he's a better example of an NFL player than 90% of the league.
True that.A player does not get voted to the HOF with just talent alone and TO is not all that he is just plain overrated!!!Overated? Please explain how he's overated. He led the league in TD receptions and has numbers that already rank among some of the best to ever play the position.
