I suck at this. I'm not very good at projecting where people will go...I have some idea of the college football game...and I like to think I know about the NFL game and have a good idea of whats going on.

Basically I just ran threw the prospects and just listed a bunch of kind of half predictions and half what I'd like to see happen :D.

Also, If I'm right on even one of these...either I got the round right or even if we draft anyone on here...I'll be happy, also if I make a beastly pick I can quote it and say I'm the bomb.

Round 1 #11(11) - the number next to # is the overall pick number; the number in () is what pick in that round that pick is...so the 11th pick in the first round and the 10th pick in the 2nd round.

:francis:

Round 1 #11(11)
Amobi Okoye DT Louisville (if he falls)
Jamaal Anderson DE Arkansas (same) will be gone
Adam Carriker DE Nebraska (same) 1
Gaines Adams DE Clemson (same) will be gone
Laron Landry S LSU (WBG) will be gone
Meachem 3
Pat Willy 2
Alan Branch 4

Round 2 #42(10)
Dwayne Jarrett WR USC 2
Sidney Rice WR S. Car 1
Weddle S Utah/Merriweather S Miami 3
Eric Wright CB UNLV 4

Round 3 #76(12)
Brandon Siler (IDK if he's got good enough size) 2
Ryan Harris OT Notre Dame 1
Manuel Ramirez G Texas Tech 3
Brian Leonard (prob won't be here) 4
Tanard Jackson CB Syracuse 5

Round 3 #97(34)
Zak DeOssie (A good coverage ILB) 1
John Wendling S Wyoming 2
Bobby Piscaletti S Oregon 4
DeMarcus Tyler NT NC State 3
Brandon Mebane NT Cal 5

Round 4 #104(5)
Anthony Waters ILB Clemson 2
Baraka Atkins DE Miami 1
Tim Duckworth G Auburn 3

Round 4 #110(11)
Jonathan Wade CB S. Car 1
Fred Bennett CB Tennessee 2

Round 4 #124(25)
Jon Abbate ILB Wake Forest 1
Josh Gattis S Wake Forest 2

Round 4 #135(36)
Dallas Baker WR Florida 1
Rory Johnson OLB Ole Miss 2
David Patterson DT/DE Ohio State 3

Round 5 #147(10)
Travarous Bain CB Hampton 1
Stanley Doughty NT S. Car 2

Round 6 #186(12)
Jarrett Hicks WR Texas Tech 2
Chris Henry RB Arizona 1

With all the 3rd and 4th rounders...they're will probably be a trade. Which probably won't ruin anything cuz I'll be wrong either way :tease:

Anywho, everyone was doing one...and I'm pumped for the draft in less than a month!

Feel free to comment...but go easy, I already admitted I don't know jack!

If I'm right on even one of these...

You managed to get most of their names right, as well as what schools they attended. :tung:

This will be the final "Guessy" and is more of a traditional "mock"

If Darrell Jackson does officially become a 49er...I think that knocks WR down a peg on the needs list.

I think the main concerns to be addressed through the draft are: DL: a 3-4 end, perhaps a true NT. and less pressing needs at ILB, O-line, S, and WR (in that order)...I could see a 3-4 end/NT in the 1st...and depending who's there in the 2nd round maybe an ILB to replace D.Smith and start next to B. Moore in a couple years...if the best ILB on the board would be a reach at 42 than I'd guess BPA at either O-Line or S.

Round 1 #11(11)
I think the 49ers may have Landry and Levi 1 and 2 on their boards, but they'll be gone by 11.
so...

Carriker, Willis, Branch and maybe Okoye.
I'm going to guess Adam Carriker,DE, Nebraska. But I could see any of those guys...easily.

I lean towards Carrikker, because Branch has had some problems w/ motor and what not...Willis may get lost at times in a 3-4...and Okoye may be gone...or doesn't fit the system as well as I can see Carrikker doing so.

Round 2 #42(10)
This is where I think the D. Jack trade affects things...I would have thunk a WR would be smart here...but if the trade ends up happening I'm gonna go with...
Eric Weddle S/CB, Utah. I can see Weddle being a back up safety who plays more in passing situations for Michael Lewis.

I just like this:
FS: Mark Roman - Keith Lewis
SS: Mike Lewis - Eric Weddle

That's pretty much a 'hitter' and a 'coverer' at each Safety spot, which is useful for packages and situational subs.

Close calls may be David Harris (but I'd rather see Siler in the 3rd or Deossie in the late 3rd, early 4th), Also if a top O-lineman unexpectedly falls, I can easily see Nolan snatching him.

Round 3 #76(12)

I like Manuel Ramirez ,G, Texas Tech here. Smiley may be gone soon...Larry's gonna retire soon...so even if he won't be a starter, some added depth at O-line is helpful.

perhaps
Brandon Siler

Round 3 #97(34)

I like Zak DeOssie ILB, Brown here.

Although, if we went other ways earlier, like if we didn't go Weddle in the 2nd I could see a S like Piscaletti or Wendling, who I both like...but I like Weddle more. OR perhaps a NT prospect like DeMarcus Tyler or Brandon Mebane.

Round 4 #104(5)
Ryan Harris,OT, Notre Dame

I also like...
Anthony Waters ILB Clemson
Baraka Atkins DE Miami
Tim Duckworth G Auburn

I could also see a RB here...any guy that has fallen...

Round 4 #110(11)
Here, I'm going with Dallas BakerWR, Florida. I like his size...and think he can contribute and maybe turn into something.

maybe for some depth the best CB on the board, I like: Jonathan Wade CB S. Car, Fred Bennett CB Tennessee

Round 4 #124(25)-- I believe if the D Jack deal goes down, this is the pick we will be giving up.

Round 4 #135(36)
I'm going with Jon Abbate ILB, Wake Forrest...maybe it's just wishful thinking...but who cares?

perhaps Josh Gattis S if we didn't go S at all yet.
or:
Rory Johnson OLB Ole Miss
David Patterson DT/DE Ohio State
Derek Landri

Round 5 #147(10)

I'm gonna go with Travarous BainCB, Hampton. I like this CB, and he's worth a shot.

Also, this late a NT prospect is also worth shot:
Stanley Doughty NT

Or perhaps a shot at a solid backup RB:
Chris Henry

Round 6 #186(12)

Jarrett Hicks WR Texas Tech

maybe a RB here?
Chris Henry RB Arizona

1 Patrick Willis
1 Joe Staley

With the picks as they are now...

I'd like DL help in the 2nd round...However whats left on the board might not be what we're looking for at DL/DE/NT. ARZ took Branch, so he's off. Maybe Abimari...eh...maybe Tyler...eh

So going S...WEDDLE! May be a good way to go.

I wouldn't mind a WR so much...but I really feel if we've secured D Jack that we can fill a bigger need at a S while at the same time having a guy who is versitile enough to play either S spot...fill in at CB or play a 4th corner. Jarrett or Rice perhaps

I could see a CB, but not really = eh. There are some real good CBs out there tho.

Kalil could be interesting.

I don't mind waiting for a S and maybe getting a CB/WR cuz I like the 3rd/4th round Safties...but I really like Weddle at 42

1 Patrick Willis
1 Joe Staley
3 Jason Hill

After 2 and 1/2 round, I'm pleased with our draft so far. Although I think we could have used a 3-4 end or NT...but there still half the draft left.

Eric Weddle was taken by SD maybe 6 or 7 picks ahead of us in round 2...then we traded out of that spot...I wonder if we were targeting Weddle...or someone else, Or we just wanted a 1st round pick and all our targets were gone, or would have been a reach.

With pick 97 coming up, I'm just gonna list a few guys I'm personally liking at 97...and may be picked:

key: ! - definite possibility, maybe - maybe, Eh - eh, maybe but not really -- Bold means I want !!

Manuel Ramirez! G

Doug Free - Eh G
Andy Alleman - Eh G -- As I was typing this, NO took him.

Baratka Atkins - Eh DE

Zak DeOssie - maybe LB

Ray MacDonald - maybe DT/DE

Antonio Johnson - Eh NT

I like Stephen Nicholas, but he may go later, and doesn't fit a 3-4 really.

Antawan Barnes - later prolly EH EH EH

John Wendling!! S

Josh Gattis eh

RB is a possibility

I like Wolfe and Wynn, but I bet we go RB in the 4th.

Well the first day is complete...

I'm very happy with the players we drafted:

1 Patrick Willis - One of the guys I listed as possibly happening and that it was so close I just guessed (incorrectly :D)

1 Joe Staley - A guy I drafted in the 1st mock draft game at #40 overall, his stock has risen since than, and I like the trade to get him.

3 Jason Hill - A WR who dropped in the draft from where he was expected to go, probably due to a decline in production from his Junior to Senior year...People were discussing taking him at #42...I didn't like that and prefered a larger WR like Jarrett or Rice...but in round 3 it is an excellent value pick and I have high hopes.

3 Ray McDonald - A Florida guy () I think if he bulks up a little - gets a little stronger and puts on some weight, as well as shores up his technique and can stay healthy () We could have a starting DE (in the future, not right away) in our 3-4...or at least a guy to rotate in

I'm looking foward to round 4...and day 2 in general

I really, really, really want to get John Wendling and Manuel Ramirez in round 4.

I'd guess a RB will be picked...I like Wynn.

I also am hoping for Jon Abbate  late in the draft.
