Setting the stage for a series of public discussions on a new 49ers stadium, Santa Clara's city council will hold its first key conversation on the deal Tuesday night - behind closed doors.

I really hope the 49ers get a new stadium soon, but that being said, it's really kinda depressing hearing all this "news" about a new stadium that I'm likely never to see.

Check out their website to get all the details revealed recently. There is also an overhead presentation at the bottom under the date of April 10th.
This should answer most of your questions.
The next meeting of the SC City Council referring to the proposed 49ers new stadium is on April 24th at 7 pm. Come join the rest of us 49er fans there!

distance and money issues
At one point in my life I thought I would have to go to DC, Cleveland, Cinncy, or other east coast venue to see our 49ers play:down: After serious thought, research, planning, and budgeting I am happy to say "I will be there...".:dance3: I do have to wait nearly two years but I WILL be there!!!

for me, it's just more talk. i have been hearing 'talk' for a decade now.
Exactly my thinking, wake me up when someone show me some action instead of all talk.

Maybe I'm crazy, but I'm seeing action. The team has identified a site it likes in Santa Clara, it has earned a reaction in San Francisco that has led to a backup plan (however farfetched), it has an infrastructure in place at team HQ, it has hired consultants, and has worked with Santa Clara on a preliminary study. These things do require patience that is hard for we sports fan to muster. I must say that I'm encouraged.

I hope there wont be a new stadium. I have decent seats right now and I dont have seniority.
