The SF 49ers are having a free Family Day at Monster Park on Saturday June 24th from 11am to 3pm. The 1st 1500 kids will receive free game tickets and there will be player appearances, Goldrush cheerleaders will be there and locker room tours. There also will be games kids can participate in. I probably will be helping setting things up so hope to see some of you and your kids there.....

sure, its just called family day...any nephews or nieces? You probably just wont be eligible to get the free game day tickets, its only for the 1st 1500 kids...the game most likely would be one of the 2 preseason games here at Monster, but don't hold me on that I could be wrong. I'll try to get more info on that.

The tickets given away are for one of the preseason games. The Family Day event is taking the place of the annual Fan Appreciation Day held at Kezar Stadium (original 49er stadium), and everyone was welcome there, just more stuff for the kids to get involved with such as a obstacle course similar what the pros do in training camp, but modified for kids....should be fun, have to cancel my plans to go to the Funk Festival that day at the Concord Pavilion...any one interested in buying a ticket?...cost me 80 bucks but will give the person a deal...ConFunkchun.. Brothers Johnson...Average White Band...Morris Day and the Time and others, pretty goods seats practically front row..

and it would hold more people than kezar did, parking alot easier too. Since its before training camp I doubt they will have a scrimmage for the fans like they did a few years ago, but that fan day was during training camp.

Anyone know if the Kick/Pass/Punt competition will be held again this year?

On the questions regarding the free tickets; in the past, kids who participated in events received tickets. My boys and oldest girl would participate in the KPP, and my middle girl participated in the Cheer Clinic.

After they had verified participation, they each received tickets So it would be more like "first 1500 kids who particpate." Tickets were nosebleed end-zone to an evening pre-season game if I remember correctly... but they were free and we were going anyway.

It's a blast though. Last year I got my 32 jersey signed by Kevan along with some video with him.

I'm not sure if there will be a punt/pass/kick competition, but the 1st 1500 kids 15 and under will automatically recieve the tix to the last exibition game.
I guess they will recieve them as they come through the gate, no participation is needed. Both preseason games are at 7pm and i'm not sure of the location of the seating, I guess the earlier you come the better seats you get. Also if you volunteeer to help, they give tickets to those people too.

flag football, no tackle, they don't want to be responsible for injuries to kids.

markiemarko

The kids will recieve the free tix after participating in the events such as football obstacle course and etc....I thought they would just be giving them out entering the gate, guess I was wrong.

There was definitely a lot more people than last year... a LOT. We decided not to show up as early this year and that was a big mistake (we were staying in town this weekend, whereas we drove last year.) There were what looked like thousands of people wrapped all the way from the entertainment gate up the the public transit area. I don't think they were prepared for that amount of people to show up.

We did get some tix, which I didn't think would happen, so that was kind of a bonus. They are in the "charcoal" section, but they were a lot cheaper than our regular seats!

We also got a lot of autographs. We were in line and then Davis took off, but not a big deal. Personally, I like alumni autographs more than rookies as I'm doing it for personal consumption. If they turn out to be anything, I'll get them later on down the line.

The alum are cool too as I would spot them and engage them in conversation. I think some of them really love that folks still recognize them. Then when people would see them signing my helmet, they would swarm us (and ask me "who is this?") I was hoping R.C. would be there again this year but he wasn't :( He is always great to talk to and loves to show off them rings. Gives a great "Alley Oop" autograph and I was going to let him sign the logo on my helmet (logo spots are reserved for SB alum only!)

We also got some quality time with some Gold Rush girls outside the stadium that took the time to interact with the kids and make sure they signed everything we had.

Funniest thing I had seen occurred when Davis was walking from the Bone tent back to autographs. People were going all goofy over him and some dude starts feeling Davis' arm! Ahh... ok. I don't care how famous I was, I would never find anything acceptable with some dude coming up to squeeze any of my flesh. Chicks, cool... dudes, not cool!

Haven't dumped my photos yet, but I'll put them online and link 'em.

I had seen him there, but he shows up at the games regularly so I figured I'd wait until then and go for some other autographs. I have several autographed cards, among other things by him. Him, Keena Turner, and Sapolo seem to be very regular at the games.

I read the article and it said R.C. Owens was there, but I didn't see him. Thats a real bummer :( I didn't get in until after Noon (waited in line 1 hour and 15 minutes) and left about 1:45 or so, so maybe I just missed him.

Wow, I spent more time handling the helmet and such and didn't really take many photos. Another woulda, coulda, shoulda I guess.

Here are some of them... http://s9.photobucket.com/albums/a60/OrovilleTim/49erFamDay/ (The one pointing into the stands is the field view of our seats... I'd always wondered ;))

I got sunburned too but only on my forehead as I went hatless (a real rare occassion for me.) I love that Bay Area weather though and the burn was nothing compared to what we would have had at home. We came back home yesterday afternoon to 109 temps with little to no wind :(

It was a lot of fun, but I assumed it would be like last year. If I go again next year, I'll change things up a little getting there real early, tailgate for lunch, then go back in and close it down.

The exciting thing for me was getting on the grass though. I've been attending games since 1994 and have never got to set foot on the field so that was my personal motivation yesterday. The rest of the motivation for going is for the kids. They really enjoy participating in some of the activities (although there were amusement park size lines yesterday!) My daughter also got to nearly fully populate the pink hat she's been working on over the last year which was cool. She hasn't ever got to wear it to conform with the "cheerleaders only sign new/unworn items" rule, so now she can finally start sporting it.

She hasn't ever got to wear it to conform with the "cheerleaders only sign new/unworn items" rule, so now she can finally start sporting it.

Thanks! They had a blast as always. I've definitely got me some true little Niner fans. The stuff they put up with throughout the year with travel (we live several hours from the stadium and all the functions,) getting shoved around in crowds and lines, and sitting/standing in the hot sun or cold weather never seems to phase them as long as it's something to do with the Niners. We did miss the draft though due to my Grandma's funeral, but we'll be going to some of the training camps. Definitely a Niner family here!

Someday when they realize they don't have enough in their college funds, I'll be able to point back to these days and the years of being season ticket holders and say "but, you've always got your memories of the Niners" :rolleyes2:

Boring. Nobody wants to see the locker room. I thought you'd have pics of cheerleaders and players. Great job putting it all together though, must have took you a while, thank you.

Cool. Hot cheerleaders, ALumni, and Brandon Williams. Thank you too.

Very real! It's some the most awesome grass I'd ever seen and felt. It puts golf courses to shame!

sure, its just called family day...any nephews or nieces? You probably just wont be eligible to get the free game day tickets, its only for the 1st 1500 kids...the game most likely would be one of the 2 preseason games here at Monster, but don't hold me on that I could be wrong. I'll try to get more info on that.

Its for the pre season Chargers game
