Grading has started!

Rank the top 5 teams you feel significantly improved their roster. Scoring is:

1st place team = 7 points
2nd place team = 5 points
3rd place team = 3 points
4th place team = 2 points
5th place team = 1 point

After everyone has graded, I'll total up the scores to find our winner, runner-up, and 3rd place teams. If you don't vote, your team(s) will not be in the running. It's okay to vote for your team(s), just do your best to be objective and impartial.

All rosters must be at 53 or less

=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=+=

Copy and paste this for your grading format:

1st place team =
2nd place team =
3rd place team =
4th place team =
5th place team =

I am honestly shocked that Oakland doesn't have a first place vote yet. The only team I consider in the same league in terms of improvement is Buffalo. The raiders went into the draft with a decent D, but no o-line, problem WRs, no QB of the present OR future, and a suspect RB.

I got them a 4-time pro bowl LT under 30, a mauling OG, a pro bowl RB. I got them a solid veteran starter at QB to help them compete right away, and the 2nd ranked QB in the draft for the future. I rid them of problem receiver Moss and drafted CJ. What's a guy gotta do to win this thing?

My rankings:

1. Oakland
2. Buffalo - a very impressive draft, the one I liked most that wasnt mine.
3. Minnesota Vikings - would have liked to see QB and CB addressed instead of another RB, but a very solid draft.

4. Tennessee - solid.

5. Carolina Panthers - I'm not 100% sold on this draft because a big centerpiece was getting 2 old and declining o-linemen. But they still have gas in the tank, he improved at receiver, and made some nice moves to improve the D.

Give me some more time. I've been too busy too sit there and scrutinize every roster. I'll do it soon though if you leave it open for a while.

Okay, I did a quick skim through and ranked the teams, then went back for a second evaluation, and finalized my choices...they are:

1st Place === Oakland Raiders
The defense didn't need much tinkering, so grabbing CJ and Quinn, and trading for Samuels were brilliant. I'll be surprised if OAK doesn't win every one of these games.

2nd Place === Dallas Cowboys
Getting rid of TO for the younger, more humble version was solid. Stanton should challenge Rhomo soon. I like the subtle upgrades to the OL. Love the new safeties, and the LB upgrades.

3rd Place === Arizona Tards
The secondary should be brutal on opposing WRs. Losing Dansby sucks, but Bulluck is worth it. Not sure about Fincher, the depth behind him is probably better, so that's where I looked there. I like the OL upgrades. Leonard should be solid for ARI. Robinson and DeOssie should be able to contribute right away.

4th Place === Tampa Bay Bucs
My upgrades went where they were needed. I had little resources to work with, but made the best of them. I got the premier LT, and added my favorite sleeper (Heyer) to balance the other side. Trueblood was a high pick, and will push Walker off the roster (has in real life). Laurent Robinson was a steal for me. No more Simeon, but the combo of White and Johnson should actually be better. Mebane is a stud on the nose. Tatupu should re-invigorate Brooks, and Bradley will be a solid starter on the other side. My secondary is deeper than ish, prompting a move for my favorite 06 sleeper Zemaitis to FS to challenge Allen. The Marvin White pick was a steal for me too, he could challenge for a starting role immediately.

5th Place === San Francisco 49ers
Similar to TB, SF made many subtle upgrades, and left the core of stars intact. Kreutz upgrades the center position. Ball gives the needed WR depth. Carriker and Tyler add to an emerging DL. Piscitelli will be a stud, and Bain has the tools to do well. I'm not crazy about the Bazuin pick, but he adds depth.

Just missed: TEN, BUF, CLE, MIA...and if MIN had gotten a QB, they probably would have beat out SF for the 5th spot.

Congrats Knobsy!!! I really liked your team.

Funny how I always thought I was more dedicated to improve the Cowboys than the Cardinals, yet I won second place with 'Zona. :laugh:
