For the record. I did not think Andra Davis was a Tackle. When I was readjusting my roster I put him on the depth chart as a tackle by accident after removing Jennings.

I am (and have been since prior to the trade) aware that he is a LB, however, I currently own Zach Thomas and Nick Barnett, so I decided to use Davis in order to get Ogden, since I was in need of either an OG or OT (I sent a number of people offers this morning and only a few responded).

I was in such a hurry to get Ogden (because I had to go to work this morning) that I wasn't able to look deeply into Glenn's history. None of the reports I could find on him said anything about him being a probowler, so I suggested adding him to the offer.

I contacted 49ers121 about Ogden and then after finally offering Tarik Glenn, he tried to turn the trade proposal into one for the Colts (who were not interested) so I declined. The whole point was for the 49ers to get Ogden and would have rather not involved the Colts.

Because of what the reports I read on www.rotoworld.com, I wasn't convinced that Glenn was worth much more than a couple of 7ths, so I structured the deal that seemed plenty fair at the time.

After writing all of this by the way, Marvin Harrison is on the trade block

I have been a 49er faithful since I was born (my grandparents own season tix), but until last year I didn't even follow the draft. I know plenty about the 49ers and a little about other teams, but I haven't even heard of some of the players I currently own.

Analyzing football prospects is new for me, however, baseball is something I am very informed about. Which is why I decided to get more into the 49ers and football, because naming the top 100 prospects and Giants 40 man roster wasn't much of a challenge anymore.

So forgive me if some trades have seemed wierd, but I never really considered a starting lineman to be worth much more than a 3rd round pick, unless they are the caliber of Larry Allen

There is no need to put a limit on the number of teams owned by the same guy. In mock draft game 3.0 (run by Deaneyed) I managed the Cowboys and Cardinals. At the end of the game I received a handful of votes for both teams and I didn't need to use those loopholes.

A golden rule has always been that a trade cannot be made between two teams owned by the same player. We should have applied the same to 3-way trades.

Then again, it is your game, these are your rules. We can't do anything to stop you from making those deals.

I understand your concerns and the reason I made that a rule was so that you couldn't make an obviously unbalanced trade. If I were to trade Peyton Manning and Marvin Harrison for a seventh rounder, then thats an issue, which is the reasoning behind the rule.

However, three way trades make it possible for you to trade between your teams, while utilizing another player to make sure it isn't collusion. For instance, the Colts are deep at WR and the 49ers need help at that position while having draft picks to work with. The Colts could use draft picks to add depth and possible starters on defense to their already strong roster. Had I not traded Wayne to another team, I may very well have looked to trade him to the 49ers for a few picks

I don't speak for everyone, but I don't have computer access 24 hours a day, however, part of this game is taking the responsibility to return PMs and be an active participant.

What's working against you is (and this isn't just me who's said this) you'll be in the middle of negotiations, and just disappear during the process. it's understandable when something comes up and such, but usually people will let you know they are logging off or whatever, and not leave others hanging. Also, you can see who's online, and what they're doing as a feature on this board, so when someone sends you a PM, and they see you're cruising around the board going thread to thread, but never reply, it's frustrating.

Like I said, responding to PMs is a big part of this game, and the people who play these every year understand that. Newcomers to these games are usually told that upfront, but this wasn't my game, so I didn't go to everyone and explain how these games work. If you don't have the time to be active, then don't play. Otherwise, you'll get no sympathy from the people who play in these every year, and know what's expected.
