They're better in the coaching department, but that's about it. They've been pretty inactive in FA.

They signed Mike Gandy who is a pretty good Guard...I wonder if they'll put him at LT....he isn't a very good tackle, but probably better than anything they have.

Cardinals:
Three different cities and they still can only muster an All-time regular season franchise record: 453 - 658 - 38.
i think it's still a bit early to say that.:secret:
Indeed. They were supposed to be better in coaching with Dennis Green around. :whistling:

I don't think this is accurate. Sure, we didn't go spend $80 million on one guy, but the plan was to build depth and create competition. To that end, we've signed the following players:
Mike Gandy: Versatile OL that will likely start at guard and can move to tackle in an emergency.
Terrence Holt: Hard hitting safety that played in college with our Pro Bowl Safety Adrian Wilson.
Roderick Hood: Solid Corner that was the odd man out in a solid CB Corps in Philly.
Al Johnson: Center that lost his job to a Pro Bowler due to injury. Center was arguably our weakest position last year, so this is a major upgrade.
Sean Morey: Stolen from Pittsburgh as a Special Teams Stud.
Terrelle Smith: A bulldozer at fullback.
OL, Defensive Secondary, and Special Teams were our weak spots last year and we have upgraded each of those significantly, as well as added depth. The Cards have also resigned 6 depth players that showed alot of potential in limited playing time.
I agree there are holes to fill: Blocking TE, LT, and WLB. I think we can at least address 2 of the three in the draft. We'd also like to get more depth at DE, since Bertrand Berry is injury-prone.
The coaching upgrades are amazing. Instead of Denny's Country Club, our guys will be working hard under John Lott, Grimm, and Whisenhunt. The change in our conditioning program may be the biggest offseason move because our team sure faded in the 4th quarter alot last year.
I do think we will see improvement over last year. I do think the 49ers and the Cards will give Seattle a run in the division this year.
See you all on MNF.

They're set a G for now with big Deuce, Milford Brown and now Gandy.
At C they'll probably add someone in the mid to late rounds but Al Johnson isnt a bad bridgeway for the future. He'll be good, but nothing special.
Tackle, by all apperances, seems to be their big hole. They got good play from RT Reggie Wells but LT is a huge ?.......Maybe Levi Brown at #5 but that seems a little for him.

They are all excited about John Lott. I will give it to him that he is pretty intense, however, then I think about it and he came from the Browns who have had significant injuries the last few years while he was their strength and conditioning coach.
i think it's still a bit early to say that.:secret:I was basing that off of their O-Line coach, Russ Grimm. That's the best thing they've done in a while.

See you all on MNF.I understand why you feel that way, but none of those players are really, really significant upgrades. Al Johnson and Rod Hood are good players though, I don't really have much of an opinion on the others.
But you'll be a lot better regardless... The coaching aspect is what was most important IMo.

I don't know....
Reggie Wells - Deuce Latui/Milford Brown - Al Johnson - Mike Gandy - Joe Thomas
Thats a decent o-line....and I'm scared to think what that offense can do with a decent o-line.

But I know about jack about Gandy. They're solving the problem though.

Me, because it's funny when they still disappoint.
The Cardinals are a riddle, wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a meth pipe in the desert waiting to be smoked.
Even though they never come true, it's hard to argue against the fact that they DO have a lot going for them. Matt Leinart is gonna be a great NFL qb, despite typical rookie struggles and some bad games last year behind a terrible 0-line and crap run game, at times he showed flashes of why he was hyped up that big in the first place and even had some incredible games for any kinda QB, much less a rookie.
But they gotta show me something before I can take them seriously.

Rams better improve on defense.
Heh, you should be worrying about the Niner defense. As bad as the Ram's defense was (and it was bad, no doubt), they were still ranked well ahead of the Niners in total defense and scoring defense. Sobering thought for you Niner fans...

Thats cause points come from the passing game which the Niners were dreadul in. Your Rams cant stop the run which means they're on the field all game.
Plus, we added Lewis and Clements. You guys still have Glover and Kennedy as your DTs which has to be one of, if not the worst DT tandem in the league.

Yeah, trash talk from fans of a team that hasn't done squat the past few years does get kind of annoying after a while doesn't it?
Uh huh. Seems I heard that kind of talk from you guys the last four times we played.
I'm not overly concerned, knowing that's just about everything cards fans have to rub it on us. 4 reg season games in a row, none of them came in a season where the Cards reached playoffs.
Oh, that and "OMGOMGOMGOMG Q&FITZ ARE UNSSSSTOPPABLE!". :Guitar:
