What do you think? I think he has been just as much an influence on our franchise as well as around the league as any other person in NFL history.

He would never ask for it, but I think its a great idea!

Interesting that Bill Walsh played such a role in 49ers being in Santa Clara in the 1st place.

The Statue would be a good idea.

A statue huh? Seems like a bit much for me, but who knows? At the very least, I'd love to have some sort of gallery or something that you could walk through with photos and paintings of the glory days.

I think that that is a fantastic idea. He completely changed the way you play offense in the NFL. He also revolutionized the art of draft techniques with his ability to trade down for the best players. I think he deserves it as much as anyone, he needs to be remembered.

We need to have a bronze statue of him in front of our new stadium once it is completed. If it weren't for Coach Walsh the Niners wouldn't be a dynasty and one of the elite teams in the NFL.Niners would be in the same category as the Cardinals and Lions,2 of the laughing stocks of the NFL today.:banana4:

I would agree to the statute and I would even say that it be located at en entrance and call the whole plaza in front the Bill Walsh Plaza. Hey at Candlestick they have the Goldmine, why not have something named after Bill walsh. And then in the stadium I would have a ring of fame like Dallas, First name up there I say Is Bill Walsh, then Joe Montana, Ronnie Lott, Dwight Clark, Syeve Young, Roger Craig, and the other great players of the past.

My buddy, Martin S. Jacobs, who has written 2 books already on the 49ers (as well as others) is asking Dr. York for some kind of 49er Museum to be near the proposed new stadium where fans could browse through memorabilia donated by fans from all over.

I could donate all my plaques and my large 49er SY jersey with the original oil painting of Steve walking through the large 8 on the jersey. It's a beauty! I'm sure many others would be willing to part with some of their treasures where they would be admired by 49ers from everywhere.

Don't you think this is a GREAT idea? I do! :wow:

I'd practically have to move in as curator...j/k
