I want the Field named after him

Makes no difference who the naming rights to the stadium are sold to, but the field should be named after Bill Walsh. " Walsh Field at Monster Park". Or put in whoever the sponser is in place of Monster Park

Or better yet why not just name something else after him? After all, names like "Walsh Field at Liberty Mutual Stadium" gets to be a little tiresome. Much like "Monster Park at Candlestick Point" It's still Candlestick park whenever I talk about it. It would be better to include some non-sponsored portion of the field to his name. The stadium plan calls for a wide walkway to be built connecting the convention center to the adventure park that will pass in front of the stadium. On gamedays it will be lined with vendors and entertainment leading up to the game. I think I wouldn't mind naming it Bill Walsh Way and maybe someday add a statue in there.

I don't like the 5 minute names either but like Wiz pointed out, he and everyone else still calls it Candlestick. Personally, I would prefer the entire complex to be named after Walsh. They can stick whatever sponsor's name on it the want, most likely people will just call it Walsh Feild. I just think Walsh desrves to more than just a walkway named after him.
