Nashville Paper confirms that Vince Young will be on the cover of Madden '08

I like Vince Young and all, but I think this is a little absurd if it turns out to be true. Not awarding the cover to the Super Bowl champion QB Peyton Manning or the NFL's leading rusher in LaDainian Tomlinson, but a rookie.

They couldn't dare bring the curse upon the golden boy and the best player in the league in LT.

I guess that means I'm staying away from vince young on next year's fantasy football as he will probably break his leg in pre-season or some sort of season ending injury.

Who ever chose Vince Young for 08's Madden cover of been high when he made this decision. So many better choices... I was almost positive L.T. was gunna be it. They could have went with Drew Brees.

P.S.- Last year, Alexander was rated as the second pick in Fantasy and I had the second overall pick, I passed on him and went with L.T, man was I lucky :dance3:

I waited until late rounds and picked Gore and McGahee. I wanted LT with my first pick but the guy infront of me snagged him. So I picked Carson Palmer... that was a bad choice.

Hey, I won my league last year w/ the combo of Carson Palmer/Alex Smith at QB.

Palmer was inconsistent at times, But still threw for 4,000yrds 28tds and 13int...3rd best in league.

my RBs were great tho...Steven Jackson a mix of 3 good guys: Deuce Mcallister and Thomas Jones and Travis Henry...I was gonna draft em but some jerk took Gore right ahead of me..

Terry McCormick, of the Nashville City Paper, reports Tennessee Titans QB Vince Young will appear on the cover of EA Sports Madden 2008 video game. A source with knowledge of the situation confirmed Young would be on the cover. An official announcement is expected Tuesday, April 17.

I remember reading something a while back that Manning has turned down the cover before due to superstition. Now, I don't remember the source but it brings up an interesting point that some players may have turned it down this year as well as in the past due to similar reasons or conflicting contracts with other companies. I do remember Manning being on the cover of NFL Fever a couple of times a while ago and maybe that contract hasn't run out yet.

That or they choose these mobile, playmaking QBs who age 2x faster than other QBs because of their mobility.
