Complete package. Speed routes and strength. We need more than a WR though

1/2 of those passes look like they would have been picks if he had been covered by someone with an ounce of skill.

Agreed. Also didn't see any seperation between him and most of those corners.

This isn't brain surgery. The Detroit Lions NEED a good offensive lineman and will draft Joe Thomas at #2. Smiley will be a free agent and wants big money. Trade him to Detroit, switch first round picks, and send them a #3. They get a proven offensive guard who's better than Thomas who still hasn't proven himself, plus two more players. We get Calvin Johnson and spend the rest of the draft on defense. As to him being a bust -- forget it. He's awesome and next to Davis with Lelie to spread the field, let the TD's begin.

If this is all we would have to give up for Calvin Johnson, then it is a no brainer, but I am sure it would require more than just Smiley and a third. We would probably have to trade our second, and give them a pick in the third or next years third. Also, Joe Thomas is a Tackle, which is a way harder position to find quality players for, so I doubt they would do the trade for that. Also, I feel that Joe Thomas is to his position what Calvin Johnson is to his, Thomas is that good.

All in all I would love to get Calvin Johnson, and I think he is worth the first and second pick in the draft. But Nolan I am sure knows what is best for the team, and I will be happy with whatever he does because I am sure he will make a fine acquisition. :sflogo:

This isn't brain surgery.

So essentially what you are implying is, you are more knowledgable than 90+% of nfl coaches/GMs/scouts?

The only thing that isn't brain surgery is gauging the validity of your post.

Fun to watch as an nfl fan because in nfl rules half of those would be incompletions because he didnt get both feet inbounds.

I dunno....hes good, but none of CJs stuff impresses me like Vernon Davis's highlights did last year, or even Patrick Willis this year.

He did make a few nice grabs though.

I think if he falls to our first comp pick at 97 he could be a good addition. Maybe he'll develop into a good #2 with "the man" Jerry Sullivan working with him!

I'm not sure if this is the same video, but the highlight video I saw was impressive because he was always either double or triple teamed and his quarterback was throwing some of the ugliest passes I have ever seen. How he was beating and getting behind those coverages and coming down with those ducks is a big mystery to me.

In summary, CJ was the main focus of every opposing defense and had a really bad quarterback.

Are you kidding about him not having any bowl highlights he caught 9 balls for 186 yards and 2 touchdowns with the backup quarterback making his first start.
