I have been to sf the last 3 years to watch the 9ers!!! I must say I am so disappointed by the location of the stadium... I was downtown in the fish distrcit with my girl and there is so much going on down there and thats where the giants stadium is... I remember asking people where monster park was and getting responses like " dont go there at night"....
I must say though all the activities and such before the game outside the stadium are awesome.. I am from NJ and go to jets/giants games every so often and it is nothing going on like the 49ers have....
I just want them to stay in san fran and move closer to downtown...

If we season ticket holders are going to pay some seat license to fund the new stadium then I hope the niners stay at the stick.

I agree that I would hate to see the 49ers move out of the city of San Francisco. What gets me mad is the fact that the city of San Francisco didn't want to build the Niners a new stadium until Santa Clara proposed to build one. There wasn't a problem when it came to building the Giants a new stadium. My question is,what have the Giants done for the city of San Francisco compared to what the Niners have done.Let's see; we've won five Super Bowls and who knows how many play-off appearances and the Giants have lost two World Series.I realize that candle stick (I will always call our stadium candle stick) was a horrible baseball stadium but the fact is that a new stadium for the 49ers is far more deserving then giving the Giants one.I don't care where they end up as long as they stay in the bay area and get the new stadium that they so well deserve.

The city didn't GIVE the Giants anything aside from some infrastructure support, picking up some police overtime and maybe another incidental or two. The Giants used private financing to build Pacific Bell Park and will be servicing the loans until about 2020. Other funding resources included PSLs, naming rights, concession rights, and sponsorships on the outfield fences.
I agree that the 49ers are much more important to the community and have done a lot more for it in terms of on-the-field success than the Giants have. The political climate does not lend itself for complete public stadium support anymore, and that's just the way it is, here and around most of the country.

Very true. Even proposals for stadiums that would be funded partially with public money is still a hard sell and after what happened with the Oakland Raiders and the $236 million debt the city of Oakland is now stuck with, there will probably be a lot of people in Santa Clara who are going to be hesitant to take such a risk just for a stadium. I know I'm not voting for it regardless of all the positive economic predictions that have been presented. Personally, I think it would be best if the 49ers were to follow the lead of the S.F. Giants and go the full privately funded stadium route. Look at how well it worked out for them and the city of San Francisco.
