I go to Ramsrule.com from time to time to check out what the competiton thinks about our beloved Niners. Just recently I got in a "debate" with a fan on the following issues
"Clements doesn't seem the player he used to be"
"From what I've watched, he is not as good as he used to be. He used to be a very good shut down corner. I just don't see it anymore. JMO."
"He (Clements) has very similar stats to the Rams' Fakhir Brown, and he came much cheaper. Look at the stats. Pretty similar, but Brown played in two fewer games though. And they both play the same too. Not real fast, so they can get burned easy, but both are physical, man-to-man corners.
"The reason I say that is because I think they wasted money on an average cornerback. I guess we'll see when Holt goes flying past your "legit #1" corner. Even if he does cover Holt, how are you going to cover: Bruce, Bennett, McMichael, Klop, Leonard, and Jackson? You might think Clements is good, but he can't cover everybody."
"But when Holt, Bruce, Bennett, and Jackson are on the field AT THE SAME TIME, since you have trouble understanding things, how is he gonna cover all those guys? This offense is the most talented in the NFL IMO.
"That coupled with Jackson, Bulger, Bruce, Holt and Bennett, yeah I think they are the most talented IMO."
Any thoughts? I got warned that I was about to get "banned" so I could not continue my "debate" so I am going to invite hime to come over here. Of course he won't.
What do you guys think? Any thoughts or comments?

banned for what? just debating???
and the rams should have one of the better offenses next year... but considering our #2 corner last year is now our #3... i think we'll be fine covering recievers... willis can keep up with anyone out of the backfield...
and mcmicheal is good... but he's not exactly impossible to cover

It doesn't really matter what they think they are obviously going to be haters as he has signed for the niners.....probably just as we would if he signed for the rams........thats football for you.........just enjoy the banter!
When the season starts hopefully the football will do the talking and then you can RAM get it RAM his words down his mouth!!:go9ers:

Well to me it does. They talk crap about players on other teams over there and then when a fan of one of those teams "debates" the issue they get pi**ed and want to "ban" you. Especially when you ask them to explain their reasoning.
Besides........let what go? Isn't this the forum to discuss the NFL?

Thoughts......Rams will have the #1 offense in the league this year.
Nate cant cover everyone, luckily for us they dont have anyone who can cover or tackle either.
Anyone who uses "look at the stats" as their main argument for comparing players probably knows nothing about the position/sport. You just cant compare any stats directly, player to player. Situations are different, that lead to unwarrented stats.
McMichael, Klop, and Bird will probably be the most highly touted TE unit in the entire league, draft wise they are loaded. Not one of them will get 20 cathces or 200 yards. There are not enough balls to go around and Leonard will steal from SJ and the TE's NOT the WR's in that offense.
If the rams D comes together i see them in it for the division, I think that D though is a year or two away though.

Not surprised they threatened you with bannage. Anything that doesn't toe the "Ramz is gr8" line will get you in trouble. My advice to 49er fans is don't even engage with Rams fans on their territory unless you do it at the St. Louis Post Dispatch website which is pretty crappy. They make the overly-sensitive Cardinals fans look stoic.

But to view that garbage and not respond is hard for me. I mean they act like they know everything about everything.
Niners are improving and they know it...........and it pi**es them. They are looking for anything and everything to make them feel better. Even if it is BS.

I think the point is why do you even bother going there in the first place? You've never been on this board what reason would you have to go to a Rams board?

I have been on this board before.........as VA9erfan. I check this board regularly.
I go there because they do have some good stuff there......news especially.
I like to see what the competition says.
Plus what fun is it to debate the Rams with Niner fans?

dude I have been on this board for awhile, post when I please, and one of the most important times for me to post on this board is during the week leading up to a game, fans from all over the NFL come to our board during the week to debate, most of the time it is a great debate as well, peoples veiws of there team during the season are alot more important then there veiws during the offseason!
Example: last year a redskins fan would have told us that walt harris was a hack and couldnt play in the NFL anymore,"well I ask you know", do you beleive that?

Well I don't understand them. Firstly I do remember Walt Harris keeping Torry Holt pretty well confined this past year, so he could do it again (and would be covering Bruce). So between Harris and Clements they could cover Bruce and Holt pretty good. As for their third receiver, we have Manny or Spencer depending on the defense we are playing. Their Tight Ends can easily be covered with Manny, or Willis even. However, I do think they have failed to relize that Bulger is a Pocket passer and with our revamped defense he will be forced to scramble around more than he is used to and will throw more interceptions.
However, I would like to ask them a few questions. Don't they have to have the ball on offense if they want to score? They don't have a defense that is better than our offense which means we could easily win the time of possession, which keeps their "most talented in the NFL (in that persons opinion)" off the field. We have only gotten better this offseason and defeated them last year, so why wouldn't we defeat them this year too? Especially when we have improved more than they have?
Those are just a few points that I would have pointed out to them, but they may be irrational when it comes to talking about their team.:go9ers:
