Read in the paper recently that San Jose State University is trying to upgrade their stadium and possibly use it to attract a new pro soccer team. However the deal with the A's owner fell through. Has there been any discussion between SJSU and the 49ers about possibly sharing the 9ers new stadium? It would seem to me that the more teams that are using the stadium, the better the cost structure would be. Here's a link to what the university was trying to achieve.

As with the stadium probably a good idea to consider, but with the difficulties the 49ers have had to date, probably too much confusion and would only create more chiefs not enough indians.

Link seems to work fine for me. Try going to sjmercury.com and look under the sports section. There should be several articles there, including the one I linked to above.

No sharing the stadium period.
Why would you not want to share the stadium, specially if
a) It was to be used for football, so no reconfiguration needed
b) It did not cause any conflicting dates
c) The team using it was NOT the Raiders
d) You could pool the funds and save money - making it potentially possible for there to be no SBLs, or cheaper SBLs
e) It eased the financial burden on Santa Clara, thereby making it more likely to be approved.
Yes there would be a lot of logistics involved, but the way I see it, SJSU wants a new stadium and the 49ers want a new stadium, and both are having issues finding the funding for it. As it stands, the stadium funding relies on there being other events held there. If you look at the 49ers presentation to Santa Clara, you will note it includes bowl games, concerts, other sports events, etc.
NO WAY MAN!!! U CAN'T HAVE THE SAN JOSE STATE SPARTANS PLAYING IN SANTA CLARA!!!! THAT'S UNPOSSIBLE!!!!!!! MAKE THEM CHANGE THEIR NAME!!!!!
...or something.

no talks with sjsu. but there are talks with Lew Wolff about sharing the stadium in Santa Clara with the 49ers and a soccer team if he's not successful in getting a soccer-only stadium in SJ.

Sharing the stadium with the soccer team is a win-win. It helps sell the idea that the stadium will have more use than football, and it probably helps generate some revenue to support the construction.
