I was reading that world record holder Gatlin was trying out for the Bucs. I know he's tried out for the Texans before. Did either of these teams run him in a 40? I imagine its around a 4.2 4.1 range...just curious

wow knobs, yet another really nice comment from you. You didnt have to respond on this topic, i was just asking if anyone knew. I'm sure hes not that great of a receiver thats why i wasnt asking "how do you think he will be"..thanks for being an ***. You should probably get some anger management about this problem and just leave this item alone

Maybe he'll give the Bucs that first KR TD. That's the only reason I can see them signing him for.

not sure yet, but if they were to sign him it'd probably be for KR.

You do know there is an ignore list. You will not see posts of people whom you put on it.
In case you don't know it is under user cp you will see a link for buddy/ignore list

He asked if any team made him run the 40 and I thought you answered it correctly. They know what he runs the 100m in they know he's got great straight ahead speed so why would a team have him run the 40...
Because 40 yds correlates to football more directly than 100m. The question was outta curiousity for the sake of knowing, it seems like coyote already figured out the part where you need more than just pure speed to be a football player.
Skills and experience aside, a guy who gets to top speed in a flash is going to have more success on the football field than the guy who reaches top speed after the first 30-40 yards.

okay, well i searched the internet and there were so many bogus times it was ridiculous. Someone said on espn that he might be in the 3.8 range which is impossible i think. But someone else said he reportedly was asked to RUN THE 40 at the texans tryout where he went in the 4.08-4.18 range. So im not sure what to believe but it would still be fun to watch a sprinter out there trying to break a touchdown while being chased by deangelo hall or terrance newman...just a though

i know the 40 isnt super important but it is alot better sign than the 100 m is..i do agree though that the 3 cone and shuttle are much better drills. But every player should run the 40 to give them something to compare them to

Devin Hester has better game speed then Gatlin. Write it down. Im a homer

ya, some people cant translate the speed on the field with pads on. I think Ginn/Hester/and Bush all have the most ridiculous game speed. I would say it goes 1.bush 2. hester 3. ginn any other fast guys that would belong in this discussion. Moss is fast but he doesnt seem to have these guys' explosion. Deangelo hall and vick i suppose could work too..Fabian Washington, tye hill, yamon figurs...theres tons of fast dudes, but how would you rank them for on field speed

I'm sure part of the issue is the fact this topic about the same guy has been discussed to death since last year when he tried out for the Texans.
I'd have to think any team bringing him in would worry more about the agility drills, catch drills, and the 10 and 20 times VS the actual 40. The key for him is what does he do in and out of cuts and his ability to catch the ball away from his body. I think one thin that hurts him is his body from years of track only training is built to go straight. I'd imagine he's pretty average when you thro in change of direction.
