Dont know if it has already been posted but McShay said that SF originally turned down an offer from the broncos that had denver taking the 6 and taking V. Davis and sf getting the 15 and 22. I thought that the trade was a possibility but McShay said the offer was actually made, SF denied and the teams decided to go the other route of the 2,3 for Denvers first........He then mentioned because of this the niners are tied to Davis.
What do ya'll think?

The only trade the 49ers should make is up to get Williams. If they can't get Williams stick with Davis. Hopefully Carpenter will still be available at 22, if they can't get Hawk it would be nice to get one of those topic linebackers.

I have a feeling we should get use to the idea of picking up Hawk. With Farve staying another year, im fairly confident that either a trade will be made for a team to move aheas of us and getting VD or Greenbay will take VD if he's available.

I was just thinking that. Favre is going to influence offense changes for his last hoorah season. Hawk is a good pick, if this happens hopefully Johnson is healthy.

what about favre getting a say and wanting ferguson....there line has been dismantled and favre loves franks who is still around.
i think davis is our guy. my fear is if ferguson is the guy that doesnt go in the top 5 and we are sitting there. we definately have to trade down. even though he is a great player we dont need him as badly as other positions. and we would be a laughing stock if we took huff before ferguson was off the board.

Im in love with the 49ers taking Davis, I just dont know if he is going to be around come pick 6 anymore...
If so, that means though that Hawk could be there or D'Brick. If its D'Brick, id rather the Niners trade down a few spots and then take Huff

I think whether we get Hawk, Davis or trade down, we still come away with something good. In the trade down option, we could still get two good linebackers and an upgrade at TE. The main thing is that we get people who can start quickly and contribute. No more "bust" picks.

if hawk is there why would we trade down..that mean that raiders will take him...so you lose on getting him...i think i rather get hawk than huff...so is not an smart move to trade down if hawk is there and vd is not..

Brick is an awsome talent. We have to remember that JJ has had some durability questions and we do not really want to trust Harris again. For these reasons, Brick would not be a player to reject at the 6th spot. Huff would not be a bad choice. Given the multitude of roles he could play I think he would be a great asset to our young and understaffed secondary. My personal hope is for either Hawk or davis.
I do not think it likely but if get stuck looking at QBs I think we will be fine in thinking we can trade down but not very far in the 1st and the deal would need to get a high second. Wohm ever we get as mentioned, no more busts please.

isnt it sad that bill walsh hand picked the guy that made such terrible draft decisions.
if the niners decide to trade down due to davis and hawk being gone then they cant go any farther than a number it would take to get huff. the way its shaping up that means they could really only exchange with the raiders. detroit certainly wont let him go by unless millen doesnt care about his safety.
