View Full Version : Greg Ellis may be out of Dallas.
Sorry, can't find a link, but apparently Greg Ellis, the outside linebacker for the Dallas Cowboys since he was drafted in 1998, may be out of Dallas soon. I was watching NFL Total Access and there seems to be an issue with his contract or something and he wanted to meet with Jerry Jones, but Jones supposedly isn't even trying to get the problem solved. Heh, is this their way of making room for Anthony Spencer?

Ellis was a DE and he switched to OLB last year. At the time he said he was unhappy about it because he's never played LB before and he wanted the team to make a financial comitment to him if he did it - they didn't give him a new contract... so I'm sure he's probably not the happiest camper.

Drafting Spencer pretty much decided his fate...
The switch from defensive end to strong side outside linebacker apparently was pretty successful until he got injured. I'm sure some team will get him once he's released, which I'm almost certain will happen. Probably decided to get Spencer because of the type of injury he had, torn achilles tendon.
