View Full Version : What team seriously needs a new helmet logo?
Detroit. You know what, I seriously bet their fortunes would change if they came up with a more menacing lion logo on their helmet. Something like the Eagles bird. You know, a design that looks like it belongs in the 21st century.
Other teams I think need a better design are the Redskins, Bears, Ravens, and Cardinals. Yeah I know Arizona just redid it's design, but it still doesn't look intimidating in my opinion.

I've often thought the same thing, SBb. Green Bay could use another one too. Georgia and Grambling have stolen it and it just doesn't look that original anymore. Maybe even a cool logo that had both letters (GB) on it kind of like the 49ers have.
Also, (and try not to flip out on me, it's just a thought) it would be cool to see some kind of mean looking miner on the 49ers helmets. None of that Sourdough Sam crap but something cool.
I know, I know. Don't mess with greatness, blah, blah, blah...

The Bengals should put this on their helmet:

The Vikings need this:

The Bucs should go back to this but with darker colors:

Maybe this is off-topic, but if a man starts to talk fashion, he's gay. But if fashion consists of a sports uniform in any way, shape, or form, he's given a free pass.
Anyone else notice this?

Meh, I don't think that's true. Guys talk about fashion. Maybe not in terms of "I'm going for X type of look" but we talk about suits, workout clothes, comfortable shoes, etc probably just as much as women.

Yeah I liked those too. I think their 70th anniversay jerseys. Tons of Redskins fans want those back, they love them. Either the spear, or the classic "R" in the circle. They'll actually be using the "R" logo helmet a couple times this season for the 75th anniversary. I like our current set up though, it's what we won Super Bowls with and had the prime years of our team with, why change? Some of these teams that updated their uniforms lately look like some garbage arena football league uniforms- I'm all about more classic looks like the Skins, Packers, 49ers, etc. Plus paired with the burgundy jerseys, which we never wear for some reason, it looks pretty sharp.

I actually like the Redskins uniforms and think are one of the better ones in the NFL. I totally agree about some teams trying to get too fancy with their uniforms too, like the Chargers new ones (how could they choose those over the powder blues?) or the Vikings. Those are just brutal looking.
And also what I'm looking forward to see is whether or not the 49ers will wear the older jerseys from the 80's (they are our throwbacks and we wore them twice last year also), on a regular basis. It has been brought up before, and the league said that we couldn't change it until 2008 I think (don't know why), but the team still doesn't know if they are going to stick with the current uniforms, or change. I think a 49ers reporter (Matt Maiocco) said that we would know by November of this year or something like that though.

I think the SF logo is fine, I disagree with the miner idea (we had that when we were part of the AFL)

The browns really need to do SOMETHING with their uniforms. It's a classic look, but it's a classic look that I won't miss if they decide to upgrade.
also, TB's uniforms are putrid. I've never seen pewter look so bad. I prefer their old yellow and white jerseys from back in the day.
As far as the skins go, I doubt they'll change theirs anytime soon. People have been trying in vain for years to get a court to rule the Redskins organization racists due to their "evil depiction" of indians, and whatnot. True enough, time and time again courts have ruled in the skins' favor. I personally love the uniforms and hope they never change. / homerism.
Various other uni's I'm not fond of: texans, jets, and the steelers. Although, as with the redskins, I kind of feel the steelers' uni's are a staple of the NFL.

Tex Schram designed the Cowboys helmet so it would be more visable on T.V., allowing his team to be more recognizable to the masses. For all of those in favor of a more "Modern" style of helmet (ie) JAX, Ravens, Panthers, Broncos or Texans, the computer image logo blends in with the dark backround of the helmet, which with these teams matches the color of the jersey and pants as well.
When I tune in to a game where any of those teams are playing, it takes me a minute to figure out who it is I am watching, unlike a game featuring teams like the 49ers, Cowboys, Colts, Packers, Raiders or Redskins with their simple, but more traditional logo's!
Let's not end up like the University of Oregon where Nike has created a different uniform for each game this season. A mix & match of ugly...uglier...ugliest!!!!!

Dallas needs to upgrade. That star on the helmet is just not NFL Europa enough. Other teams in need of updates: Pittsburgh, Oakland, Indy, NYJ, NYG, Philly, KC, Miami, and the Saints, and I hate to say it, SF. The oval logo is B-O-R-I-N-G. If a logo isn't snarling or swooshing, it needs to be changed to something that is, even if it means changing the name of the franchise from, say, the "Cowboys" to the "Maniaxx."

I like the idea of an insane version of Sourdough Sam. Kind of in that computerized JAX image, maybe add some fangs and Nike swooshes.
And what's up with that outdated color scheme of ours? Let's do what all the followers are going with....black on purple on navy on black!

Old school uni's rule. I love our 80's uni's, the old Patriot's, Falcons( red helmets), Bill's, and even Denver's old one's. And also the old Chargers. Tradition Rules. That's why love them or hate them the Yankees have the best uniforms ever. The same one as Babe Ruth to Mickey Mantle to Reggie to Derek Jeter. Don;t go changing.
